Biz-Dir has had about half of it's pages dropped from the Google index, 1000 down to 500: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=si...avclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enGB221GB221 I know a lot of webmasters are experiencing the same thing. How is everyones directory holding up? I have definitely noticed a drop in traffic.
It's weird, I have been getting crawled like a mad man and uniques are higher than ever. but I have also been getting a weird bot ALL over my rss pages. Overall everything seems to be great.
Hello... Interesting indeed... Biz-King has gained a few hundred while sleek dropped a few hundred. Ive been getting mega hitz from most other engines and the pages on both off mine are indexed or cached very well... Just spoke with !ASK! and he has gained more in his as well.. Could it be they dropped pages from supplementals? the ones they dont show anymore? thx malcolm
Dunno but www.webdirectoryreviews.com jumped from 31 indexed page to 50 just overnight so i been noticing only an increase on sites of mine and directories of course.
Dunno why but my indexed pages got down from 1250 to 1150 - http://www.google.com/search?q=site:nobledirectory.com Also i had a drop in SERP too - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=458035
I can confirm some dropped pages in a few of my directories and gains in a few others! Thankfully the gains are in my nice PR dirs!! I know everyone will clobber me for this but I smell an export coming very very soon!
As supplementary pages were removed and are being removed, it could possibly be the result. Means we need to work hard on unique descriptions more now.
This makes me to think to upgrade to phpld 3.2.0 so that we can have unique articles in the category pages.. Hope these things work atleast well!
I also noticed google has been crawling more times. This may be due to more backlinks, so it visits more. Last time this happened the PR updates, so lets hope so
DaveE's Biz-Dir had one of the lowest supplemental pages along with ewebpages before they were dropped. Here - check another interesting statistics about links droping drammatically for his directory. But this phenomenon is not limited to his site only. All websites are dropping link-counts on Google and by huge margin every 24 hrs. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=www.biz-dir.co.uk&btnG=Search I have been watching this for last 5/6 days. So lots of things are happening with Big-Daddy and I think this goes to show I have always been on right path which I discussed on my Blog Post. Google forum section of DP is full of cries of dropping in SERPs. Chetan also saw it yesterday. So --we are moving into a completely new era of quality contents + quality links (Google counting number of links days are over).
Yep Rang.. Google is acting dramatically! anyways lets hope for good, and let G judge links by quality, this would help us to improve lot more
I appreciate your research on the entire topic, i have read out your blog post and commented there as well. But one thing i cannot understand, Why Dir Journal dot com is getting de-indexed, though it has quality and original content, i noticed there were 15K+ pages indexed and now only 7K, also each day it's getting dropped of indexed pages...
Well said and lets hope so quality not quantity any day but its so flippin hard to be original with so many directories out there now.
