That could get you in trouble though, they ask you not to make the images look like they are part of the ads, and the best thing would to put a visible border between them. But the extra 'ads by gooogle' on the left hand side is making the images look like they are part of the google ads themself and if google saw that, well I think they would be less then thrilled.

It looks nice though! =)

Yeah you might want to ask google if the ads by google blurb is okay.

Yea, well, its not me, I just found it.

I think the only issue is the "ads by gooooooogle" formatting on the left. Makes it look like the images are part of the ads by google.

I wonder if Google will ever implement Google Images into adsense now that many sites are starting to implement this technique. I know they'd have to get permission and such for certain images, but if they have public domain images, they could easily offer that and cross-promote Google Images and Adsense. I'm doubtful this would happen, but just got me thinking...

I'd be willing to bet that "ads by goooooogle" on the left will have to be taken off for that layout to "clean". Innovative look though and I bet it won't hurt ctr when they remove the grey "ads by goooooogle" on the left.

i don't think images on the left like that helps much... i think you are better off to blend the ads in with other links...

Based on...?

Everything I've seen, read and tested is showing that images around ads improve CTR. Have you experienced different results?

It sure does look snazzy though. Maybe in the future adwords clients will have the option to include a small 10x10 or whatever size image with their ads, seems like it would help both sides.

They had little logos next to the ads at one point - didnt look great though.

From the big adsense thread here. It was suggested that the images/ ads should have a border seperating the two.

*its also now more awkward as the number of ads changes so the images wont align often.

Ideally, you need a way of working out how many ads are returned. having less than full number of ads returned looks damn stupid in many layouts

I'm talking about just that ad format the large box with the images on the left...

the 728x90 is extremely effective with the images above it, as the "Ads by google" is far to the right...I think this format has been beaten up to shreds and google came out with the update...
