Thought I'd make a post in the SEO forum to promote my contest:

If you can get ranked #1 on Google for "links brilliances" on 18 Oct (12noon GMT), I'll give you $100.



What do you think?

 

$100.....?? Probably not going to attract much attention. But, there does seem to be SEO contest craze going on..

 

If you're serious about the contest, you might consider raising it to $1,000 or $10,000. $100 isn't much and won't draw a lot of attention...

 

right-o. Let me consider whether publicity is worth the $1000 punt... It's really early to tell whether it's a winner cos it's only a few days old.

it is a pretty small category but for the amount of work in that short a time scale, Good luck!

 

Most top SEO's charge a mimimum of $500 just for a consultation. $100 for 18 days work isn't going to encourage many people.

I wouldnt give you the "time of Day" for $100

 

I think $1000 should be the minimum for this sort of thing.

 

My wife said: no contests!
It´s less than 3 weeks, DP would probably win.
But someone could try to get new Blogger account
make one post and comment spam approx. 12.000.000 other bloggers.
It would be worth.

How long should a contest like this be held for?

I've also moved it from links.brilliances.com to the root site. Here I was trying to think of a good domain name for the link site, when really, my brilliances.com was a good match anyway

And yeah try to make some good prize for also 2nd and 3rd postion. If you doing something extra with your huge budget then try to make also yahoo and Msn compettion.

 

Ummm for me, $1000 is very low for the reward. Being a top SERP in Google would take forever...
