    Hi,

I have some issue with some guy here at DP about his service of dir submission for my site.

I need to know this, so please write Your experience or opinion on this:

If you submit site to 2000 directories what is the number of all mails that you expect to get from that submission after a few days(not months), not just confirmation, acceptance and rejection mails but also information mails that you recive after submitting a site to dir, something like this "thank you for submitting your site" or "submission recieved" etc..
So basicly what is the number or % of all mails that one can expect to recieve after 2000 submission(few days after).
You can write what is he number after 100, 1000 submission also..

Please just want to know your experience with this.

    Thanks,
    Nemanja

Normally most functional directories send "link received" email when you submit a link and another email when they approve or reject your link. So, in your case, you suppose to receive about 4,000 emails.

However, some directories exist that don't notify you through email. If the directories your site was submitted to have search feature, use it to search for your link. But unfortunately, some directories don't have this search function.

In case of next time, demand an Excel report of the exact directory categories where your link was submitted to from the submitter. There is need to your record straight. Submit your site to only quality directories!

It is not worth paying to webmasters who do thousands of directories - you will max get 10 - 20 quality listings.

I'm afraid Nemanja you have wasted your money:mad:

Your not the only one to be suckered into a automated submission service however, as I have used them myself in the past, but never again.

You will get very few links in return, maybe around 5% in my experience. For best results, do it the hard slog way, over time, yourself. That way you can be sure your listing adhere's to the submission guidelines...and you know your listing REALLY DID get submitted :D

You should expect 50-60 per 100 directories as some directories do not send any email. Also some directory owners are late in approving or rejecting, not all directory owners are checking the links everyday. So if you get 500-600 emails per 1000, I think you should be happy.
BTW the satisfaction level should also depend on how much you paid :D

Your 'so called advice' is skewed and your advice is just plain outright trash.

I've been reading the forums and have unfortunately also had to read your drivel as well. I'd suggest you not give 'advice' anymore as it's apparent you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

We provide manual Directory Submission services on this forum, and from my experience for 1000 submissions - we get about 700-800 emails as soon as the submission is over. In about a week, there would be more confirmation emails.. about 1100-1200 emails totally.

It seems you derive pleasure in picking on people. There's no need for that in this case.

It's not about picking on anyone. It's about calling it how It's seen.

Here is an example simply put:

    1 .2000 directories
    2. NOT all directories send out emails for submissions or acceptance/denial
    3. Therefore your 'advice' on 4,000 emails is ludicrous, lacks common sense, and is misleading the OP.

So, is that 'picking on someone' or 'calling out the oblivious'... *sigh*

Yes its 100% true, and its a sad fact for submitters like us, because this is the only way regardless of trust which confirms submission to the client.

However, i would still advice you to check for reputation, iTrader and Reviews of particular service before ordering. :)

Both of you are literally the verbal attackers we have around here. Your previous posts are littered with proof. Let the thread move on, instead of trying to make DP uncomfortable for people. I'm not here to make enemies or to quarrel.

Both an0n and hyper are established and known members here. I cant say I have seen them unjustly pick on anyone and when they take time to make a post there is usually something that can be learned from it.

My suggestion would be to take a step back and read the posts and see if there is something an open mind can take away from what is being said.

OP - many free directories turn off the emails for a few reasons. Perhaps the main one I have heard is the directory is free. If they actually (rare instances) do review the sites they likely delete 3/4 of the submissions and get tired of return emails from submitters asking why their low quality sites got declined. It is a free directory after all and frankly I would not want to deal with those kinds of emails either. Better to turn off the notifications because if they don't get the declined email there is no complaint email....

Pay for review directories are a whole other matter. If you're charging a review fee I think it only right to make all needed notifications.

Normally I get 550+ submission emails including approvals, processing emails when I do in 1000. These do increase with time maybe a week or so

Thanks for your concern and trying to mediate. I'm not a quarrelsome person, but I resent people who are too quick to judge and insult people. I'm not the first anon has insulted here. This is the second time hyper is picking on me. The evidence is here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1268113
If they felt my reply to the thread wasn't good enough, they were supposed to give a better response. They talked as if they had authority over others. A little prudence on their part wouldn't hurt, anyway. Established members need to use maturity and prudence, not venom in responding to threads.

I am the said service provider. My last client who provided a testimonial in my sales thread mentioned that upon completion, there are 270++ mails in his inbox and there is 300+ mails now. His order is for 1000 directory submission, about 1 month has passed since completion.

Let me ask other providers, is it uncommon to receive 300 mails for 1000 directory submissions? Bearing in mind that there might be more mails as time passes.

Thank You all for help here.

I didn't want to influence your answers here, but now I would like to say few words:

This DP member "bobbyt" is service provider and this is the situation( I have also post this in his thread):

I have ordered his service of 11.000 dir submission for my site 14.03. and we agreed that they will do 200 submission per day for total of 55 working days. They started working on site 16.03. on monday. I have asked that he give me user name and pass for that gmail account where mails from dirs will be going so i can track the submission process.
I assume that you all know that after you submit your site to the dir in most cases you will be getting some information mail like this "thanks for submitting you site" or "submission recieved" etc. as well as confirmation and in the end(after a certan time period) the acceptance or reject mails from admin of dir.

So this is what I have received in my gmail account from his service after 2000 submissions divided by days:
    Mar 16 - 26 mails
    Mar 17 - 25 mails
    Mar 18 - 5 mails
    Mar 19 - 0 mails
    Mar 20 - 0 mails
    Mar 21 - 13 mails
    Mar 23 - 11 mails
    Mar 24 - 13 mails
    Mar 25 - 1 mail
    Mar 26 - 0 mails

So this is total of 94 mails in gmail account after 2000 manual submision!!!
And he is trying to convince me that this is OK and normal!!
    Is this guy for real??
I'm in this business for many years now, just 4 years on DP, and was doing dir submision in the past by myself for all of my sites and after about 100 manual dir submission I will get at least 35-45 mails in mail account...I'm not speaking here about acceptance mails just info and confirmation mails that you recive right after you have submited a site to dir.

After that I have told him that this is something strange there with my site submission, he said that this is normal that you recive 94 mails after 2000 manual dir submissons and that all is OK.

I have told him that I'm not satisfyed by his service and that I don't want his service any more and that I want my money back, but he refused to refund my money.

After that I have a opened this thread(to prove that he is wrong) .

Now I have opened a paypal dispute.

Also I have to mention that I have proof for all of that and I'm willing to share that with every one here.

I would like to inform you that for the price which you had ordered this package, you cant get anything better than that.

First of all there are not 11k+ quality directories over the internet, i do keep track of dirs., i am in this field since a year and so far i had collected around 2.5k quality directories.

Had been adding dir. lists like crazy and last time i added 10k list out of which i had to delete 9.8k directories.

I am myself doing manual submissions, so let me make another point.

With fastest internet speed i am able to do 100 submissions / hour. Which means i have to spend 10 hours for 1k submissions. Which means for manual submission 11k dirs. will take 110 hours.

Now think will you get manual submission for the rate of around 1$ / hour. ??

This are couple of things you need to ask yourself before getting attracted to any cheap services.

I have done manual submission for my site to quality dirs by myself in time period of 3 months. Now I just wanted to cover all other dirs by this service, but this is not an issue here (I know what is the number of links I can expect from that submisison in the end).
Issue here is the number of mails I have recived from that 2000 submissions which can tell you what is the number of dir they submitted my site to and this is way to low...

Most of this directory submission are based on 5-10 scripts and they all have option to send mails after submission is received whether it is info message of submited site only or confirmation mail.

I have paid 145$ for that service.
