If the link is using the keywords for your site as anchor text, and it links to www.yoursite.com/ref?XXXX, then that is helpful for your websites rankings.

    I just wanna make sure.
The question is if this is the same (from the SEO point of view)
    <A HREF="www.mydomian.com?ref=XXX">anchor text</A>
    <A HREF="www.mydomian.com">anchor text</A>
Does google know it's the same page?
Does google count it as regular backlink.

    Tnx

Yah, they are not considered the same page, but that wasn't the original question....

They are asking in a general SEO perspective if it helps, and the answer is YES....

    Any link helps....

You are right, all the pages would be duplicate content, so those pages would not be helped....

But the original question is would it help in general for SEO....

And again, yes, it helps the SEO of the site because it is still a link to the site, even if its a link to a page of the site that is duplicate content, that link is still going to do more good than bad....:D

Google knows it is a different page with the same content.....

So all the ref pages will most likely be considered dup content, but it does not mean that the backlinks to those pages won't help out the SEO of the site....

I believe that it does, and that is from experience!

In my opinion it doesn't help, nor does it hurt...

I think the comments are correct here though that there is no such thing as a "bad link" unless it is from a site that Google would frown upon.

http://www.whatever.com?ref=xxx is viewed as a totally different website in the SE's eyes as http://www.whatever.com is.

Agreed, it may not particularly boost your rankings, but it doesn't hurt!

one thing i wanna clear up and one question.
I hope it's clear to every one that there is no real page that's named: www.mydomian.com?ref=XXX there is only www.mydomian.com.

And the question is, what would should i write in the robot.txt

    Tnx
