They changed my password and emptied my account. I filled a report but...Has anyone had such an experience, and if so, how should I proceed?

damn it man, you're not the only one in here telling this story. yesterday this guy told us the same thing. you can read it here

hope you will get your money back. btw, how much did they steal?

ps. - it for sure some kind of phishing method. it can't be just some coincidence..

I have been working like a crazy woman and then it all goes poof.

Thank you for the link. It is the same method, indeed. Hope that will be enough to prove that the transaction was not authorized.

do you remember receiving any e-mails like they were sent from paypal?

also scan your computer for trojan viruses, spyware/adware and see if you find anything

No e-mails, no virus infection... I have no idea how they got into my account. The only thing that was changed was my password. Maybe a dictionary password attack on their server?

I just received an email from Paypal saying "Thanks for cancelling the dispute" or something like that!

Somehow this person just cancelled the report and the case was closed. It was not me, my account is hacked! I changed the password but they managed to get into it again.

It gets worse. They are are getting into our e-mail accounts. The "case closed" message was deleted from my mailbox. Change your passwords and contact PayPal https://www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/helpscr?cmd=_help&t=escalateTab

Paypal sucks someone got into my account a while back and used it to scam other people. My money's still there (about $70) but the account is frozen. Apparently this is paypals method of solving problems. Freeze it quit and walk away. Now I can't create another account with my credit card either. Whole big mess but as much as angry as I am at them (still mad btw this happened months ago) life is much harder in the webmasters world without a paypal account.

Yeh, it's annoying how they just freeze without reason sometimes. Once one account goes with your details your pretty fucked unless u fancy creating another bank account :(

I am 99% sure the hacker is from DigitalPoint because besides PayPal and Gmail he also changed my password here and was online for some time so please be careful and report fishy private messages.

Folks, change your passwords and open disputes, if disputes are not available anymore send them e-mails. They will realize we are not a bunch of liars.

Wow, this is really shocking. The same thing happened to another guy here. It makes me feel insecure now keeping my money in paypal. Anyway, did you have CC attached to your account? Did they use the card?

I found out that skaipe.it is a teenager from the Netherlands. No idea how he got into my account.
I have never disclosed my password to anyone, nor have I ever fallen victim to any of the PayPal scams. My computer is free of virus infection...Beware folks.

Omg :S , install a firewall, and check for traffic activity, look for connections to and ip when you aren't doing anything online, without firewall you can also check in windows and linux with netstat command, get his/her ip and call the police!

PD: Were you using the same password for paypal and dp?

He is probably using other domains and e-mail accounts but I have googled over and over again and found out that a teenager from the Netherlands is doing that.

He even used the payperpostforums admin account to send me a bragging e-mail.

    !You are f*ck*d *p!
