I thought I had been dumped from the DMOZ or G directory for a minute... I was looking way too low on the page. Sweet increase, I hope it holds... Edit: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=27564 I guess it took a bit to get to my cat, and I only check one.
Took me 2+ years. There was no editor for my category, so I applied. Even being an editor for joeant.com and goguides.org at the time, I was turned down. The editor who eventually took it over put my site in quickly. I am certain he did a better job than I would have at getting caught up, but once it was, it should have been easy to maintain.
It really depends. In World/ categories, the communities are rather nicer, and faster. YOur site gets approved a lot faster. In TOP english categories it really takes between two weeks and several years.
And if it weren't for Google, it would be long gone. They won't even link to their own clone from Google's homepage or from the toolbar anymore - should tell you something.
The worst thing is you don't actually now whether your site has been rejected or not even looked at. I've submitted lots of sites over the last few months and only one has been allowed in so far. I don't really want to resubmit the others as they'll probably reject it when they finally look at it as a multiple submission. It would be nice to get listed but its no big deal anymore.
It reall depends on individual editors, if they give back a rejection e-mail. Some do, some don't, as with the editor requests (same situation).
