    No.

    No.

Your statement about us hiding makes me wonder how much experience you have had with official legal stances when it comes to any business or volunteer entity. We do not have a choice in this matter. When it comes to us making statements about whether or not a law is being broken or not, or what we are doing about it, we have been told to refer any person to the legal department (which is the AOL legal department). I would suggest to you (and others making similar points) to take it up there.

    Thanks.

If the lawyers have issued any statement that encourages listing of illegal web sites then it should be very easy for you as informed DMOZ editor to refer us to the document or place a link to it in your post.

So far the only document that you have referred us to regarding DMOZ TOS for illegal web sites supports my arguments and others that DMOZ editors are knowingly involved in breaking US laws and DMOZ TOS.

As long as you can not provide a statement from the lawyers, we can only assume that they are not aware of DMOZ editors activity regarding breaking the law and all your talks about lawyers is just a smoke screen to hide and defend such illegal activities.

If I had seen such a thing, I would have posted a link to it, yes. But the fact that I have not seen such a thing does not prove its non-existence.

I have provided you the only official stance I could find. How you or anyone else choose to interpret that is not something I can (or want to) control.

As always, gworld, you are free to draw whatever conclusions you want from my actions. I am sure that you will.

If you wish to take this through a logic chain from "Alucard can't find an official statement from the lawyers" through "So there is no official statement from the lawyers" to "So the lawyers don't know about it", so be it. I can neither confirm nor deny it. Because I do not know.

I do not speak for the ODP, nor do they speak for me. If you want official ODP policy and statements, you will have to look for them from ODP staff. The only thing that any ODP editor can ever give is their own opinion.

I go along with that, give us YOUR OPINION about the following questions:

1- What is YOUR OPINION about a law that requires 2257 statement to insure that models are not under aged, good or bad?

2- I have provided links to 2257 regulation, in YOUR OPINION does sites that don't provide this statement are breaking the law or not?

3- If these sites are breaking the law, what is YOUR OPINION about DMOZ listing illegal sites, is it against DMOZ TOS or not?

4- In YOUR OPINION, listing illegal sites and editors profiting from such illegal activities is in accordance with DMOZ social contract as stated by DMOZ or in conflict with it?

Please don't talk about lawyers and you as editor can not talk about this or that, I WANT YOUR OPINION ABOUT ABOVE QUESTIONS.

It seems Alucard is not going to give us HIS OPINION, I wonder if other DMOZ editors such as macdesign, jimnoble and Sarahk would like to give THEIR OWN PERSONAL OPINION about the above questions.
