I am putting up for sale Bidilicious which is a custom coded bidding directory list with integrated WordPress blog. The site was launched on the bidilicious.com domain name in February 2008 (bidilicious.info is also included in the sale).

The web site lists bidding directories in order of BR - Bidilicious Rank. This is our own unique algorithm which takes into account various aspects related to bidding directories to calculate the final BR. To better understand BR please read the Bidilicious Rank FAQ.

There is some manual work required as part of the algorithm, but 80% of it is automated. All of the bidding directory data such as the highest bids, alexa traffic ranking, pagerank, backlinks, etc. is all retrieved automatically.

The integrated blog operates on WordPress and all 12 posts are unique and published by me. There are a total of 5 blog comments approved.

I am selling the site because I lost interest in it and have been neglecting it. I have maintained the directory list, but I have not added to the blog since the month it launched. I believe the site still has potential in the hands of someone who is willing to take better care of it and promote it.

    Domain(s) History

I purchased both of these domains in August 2007 in this thread. Before I took ownership of the domains the .info version had been used as a general web directory, as far as I am aware the .com version had never been used. Both domains were parked prior to me taking ownership.

When I launched the bidding directory list I used the .com version of the domain and 301 permanent redirected the .info to the .com and it has remained this way ever since.

Both domains are registered with GoDaddy until 26th of June 2010.

    Traffic

Despite my neglect the site does still get a little traffic. When I first launched the site I created the following DP thread to generate interest and also posted a thread over at the phpLinkBid forums.

    Revenue

I never really monetized this project properly. I have had AdBrite displayed in the right hand column since the site launched and this has generated a couple of dollars.

I did have a couple of ideas for monetizing the site further but never got around to implementing them:

    a) Integrating AdSense into the blog posts.

    b) Replacing AdBrite with a custom banner system which allows bidding directory owners to place a rectangle banner sitewide.

    c) Allowing bidding directory owners to purchase the top slots on the list similar to the way in which other commercial directory lists operate. Plus offering other perks on their dedicated page, such as better descriptions, banners, or bold / italic entries, etc.

As I say, I never implemented any of these but I think all of them are viable options for the new owner.

The AdBrite revenue is only a couple of dollars spread out across almost 18 months, so please assume no revenue.

    Misc.

This site is developed using PHP & MySQL which most hosting companies provide as standard. The site also requires curl and access to set up crontab entries for the automated processes. Please check that your hosting company supports curl before placing a bid.

If required I will transfer the site to your hosting for you.

The 'Bidding Resources' and 'Upgrade Listing' pages are blank because I never finished developing them.

Please DO NOT ask me how the Bidilicious BR rank is calculated. I have never released the algorithm publicly and it will be down to the new owner to decide whether s/he wishes to continue this policy.

    Starting Bid: $20
    Minimum Increment $5
    BIN: Offers

There is no reserve, the site must go. I will determine the end of auction based on bids placed.
