Bidilicious Rank is now live on my bidding directory list (see link in signature). I have spent several weeks constructing an algorithm which I feel is fair to all and takes into account all aspects which are important to ranking a bidding directory. So, if your not aready listed go and submit your site, otherwise go and check out your new ranking.
Very Cool and interesting, Probably a few things that need to be tweaked though, Top URL Search - high bid is not $10, it depends on the category and Xtreme Link Bidding 3.9 $3.00 $40.00 805,065 304 Urlindexing 3.7 $1.00 $127.00 350,278 353 - lower starting bid (good value), higher top bid, better alexa rank, and older, but BR is lower. How does that work? Also, how is Gapti #6, I can't find a visible stat that would justify it, and it's not PR. I do like that PR does not seem to be an important value, if weighted at all. Great job.
Can you check your rank without getting listed? Whoops, just realized my directory is already listed. And yes as mentioned above the highest bid on my directory is $62 not $10 but again that depends on what category you want to get home page exposure for. I am not sure exactly what algo is used and maybe there is some personal input that a simple mathematical algo can't consider, my directory has zero site-wides and also has some unique article content.
Silky im having an issue with the 250 character description.... can ya lower that? Update : never mind i was missing some text my bad nice work silky thx malcolm
Nice one Silky. Glad to see I have a nice BR Alive and kicking at the top of the list. Perhaps Rob will knock me off. You better get advertising it then I can get some nice free traffic
Thanks for the feedback guys... @homepageofthemonth I have updated the system to pull the correct information for Top URL Search, was getting it from the wrong page. That will auto update over the next couple of hours. As for the difference between Xtreme and URLIndexing.... this is largely due to one having better links than the other. They both score very low in the other aspects of the algo. Look on the individual detail pages to see the link stats for each. @jg123... the top bid is fixed and will propogate through over the next couple of hours. And yes there is some manual aspects to the algo. and your unique content is taken into consideration. But to answer your question, no you can't check without being listed as the system is designed to gather information over time (I have some very cool features coming soon with regards to this)... rather than just one of checks. @malcolm... unique content.... @mikey... yep you did quite well.... as per our recent discussion I tried to place a bit more emphasis on "other" aspects of directories and not just the number of links that are pointing to them. @swedal... maybe now is the time to start one
Sorry forgot to add... Check Gapti's search engine position for some keywords and no I wont tell you which ones And PR is not factored in at all. It is only on the site for display purposes for the submitters as some of them still chase....
Well its very nice Silky and its nice to see you're looking at my content and nice design rather than what a green bar shows on the toolbar Keep it up. Hope to see the site itself ranking for some keywords soon
I will have to take your word for it. Gapti.com doesn't even rank for "gapti" or any other keyword that I would use to search for a bid directory on G... OK, I get it, you are talking about on Y. Yes, it does rank for it's name and a few keywords that you didn't want to share, but it was easy to figure out. If your algo is based off Y rank, then I understand. Again, great job with the site.
good stuff there silky .. care to share some of the factors that you are using ? i agree that out of all dirs listed there zorg deserves the top spot
Thanks for the compliment... the algo is not based *just* off Yahoo, it actually collects data from 5 search engines I also have a system that checks deeper into the data than any human is likely to delve. I dont want to give away too much smub as the FAQ on the site states, I dont want the system left open to attempted manipulation. Furthermore I think I have developed a system that is quite unique in comparison to other similar tools. I also spent a good few weeks just developing the algorithm and I dont really want it to be copied within a week of opening. As well as quite a bit of research on this forum about what directory owners in general consider to be of importance. I am sure Mikey will testify to it as I have pestered him on a couple of threads, as well as discusing it with Malcolm. What I can tell you.... the algorithm doesn't use PageRank at all other than for display purposes and I utilize various data from 5 different search engines. And unlike other tools, content and design does play a part. If you take a look at the FAQ on the site and read the section about how you can improve your BR it kinda gives a couple of hints as to the importance of some aspects over others @mikey... thanks, I have some promotion material going out over the next few days so it should start picking up a few rankings of it's own soon.
Nice work Adrian. Appreciate that you sort out bidding directories using information such as BR,SB,HB,Age and IP. Keep up good work. BTW my topbidlinks.com and webbidlinks.com are there already DON.
