Thread bumping advice

I made a sales thread a month or two ago. The thread is now fallen back 300+ pages.

If I make a new thread, I'll get an infraction for "duplicate thread". I know this because I got 4 infractions one day for doing that.

If I bump it, I get an infractions

If I ask someone to bump it, we both get an infraction

So what are my options? I would really love to sell this... but it's not worth getting anymore infractions for it.

Does this mean for the rest of my life (or DP's life) that I'll never be able to sell this on Digitalpoint?

Please advise how to handle this situation "legally".

There is no way to bump a thread legally. If it falls back behind other threads, let it be. Those who are interested can still search for it. If everyone wants their thread to be in the first page and resort to bumping. I guess this forum will be in chaos.

    Per this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=10066824#post10066824

I don't want my thread first. But I don't want it on page 344 after 2 - 3 months either. It's not like *EVERYONE* thread bumps.

In the aforementioned link, the mod said let someone "search" for it. Do many people search for the word "lasverathly"? I highly doubt it! This means that I'll NEVER be able to sell on DP after about a week or two.... How is that fair for everyone who doesn't have searchable words??

My advice is to make thread bumping "legal" with preconditions. Only allow one bump per week or per bi-week.

And don't tell me the site will be "chaos" with this method! Other (MUCH BIGGER) forums have a similar rule in place with quadruple the traffic than DigitalPoint gets.

It's not that hard to employ a limited thread bumping method and I think digitalpoint.com will benefit in the long run.

Please forward this post on to the owner.

    Thanks

You can put a link to your thread in your signature and you might draw more attention to it, if your text is notable.

And I'd like to hear about those forums that get quadruple the traffic of Digitalpoint. Are they on Internet #2?
