There really is little else you can do other than ride out the various stages - until everythings finished you're unlikely to be able to work out what exactly has happened. Making changes after only one stage would be pointless - your changes might get hit by stage 2 and you'd never know whether what you did worked or not. If you've got the domains available you could copy the content and 301 to it like Will has. I'm considering doing this for one site. But for the others I'm just going to ride it and see where it goes.
I followed the same strategy during Bourbon, albeit a bit more slowly. That time, it brought back a partial recovery shortly before Google fixed their errors. It took Google 30 days to fix their screw-up last time. I expect the same this time. This work-around took a week to take effect. The second site is not ranking as well as the first (of course), but this does mean that I should be able to expect three-weeks of a partial recovery where otherwise I would have none. I will keep you posted on further developments.
Been checking around this morning and notice that my results for one of the websites and keywords I look after have gone from #150 to #7 on some data centers. hexed
I have arrisen with about +50 places on several of my keywords. But still in ~100 SERP area, from beeing top5.
This morning, I'm averaging #70-80 for my best KWs. Allinanchors have improved though to top 20. I noticed Allinanchors for many of the page 1 results are coming up >100 though
I have been seeing some google rankings, again, for keywords of a site that was previously in the sandbox. It looks like it is only on some datacenters though.
You guys noticing that after Jagger, the data centers no longer show a "static" version of the SERPs, rather they alternate them now? I'm not talking about using "Google.com", I'm talking about using the real IP address. Hexed
I am seeing a lot of my keywords return today. Of course, they may all be gone tomorrow! Will post another update tomorrow.
The main page that I monitor is pretty much staying in the same place. I did note something curious today, though... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=391878#post391878 Caryl
Seems that continuation of recovery results has now migrated to... Jagger 2 Update Info - October 26, 2005 (posted for historical referrence)
I'm only seeing the new results on: 64.233.183.99 64.233.183.104 DC 66.102.9.104 mentioned by Matt Cutts is showing results Jagger1 using the keywords that I track. Anyone seeing the same?
classifieds, See my post in the thread that I linked to just above your post. Maybe you could copy and paste your post to over there. Sorry, but I am trying to keep some continuity to the posts so it will be easier to referrence the Jagger progression during future Updates. Caryl
Check out these: 66.102.9.104 216.239.59.104 66.102.11.104 I like what I am seeing tonight... Thanks, SGROUP for pointing it out... even if you did get the d/c IP wrong... Add to that, Google directory updated, and we may have something to celebrate...
The last of my keywords to fall completely have partially recovered. They are now where they were after they fell partially, but before they fell completely. Hopefully this process continues to reverse itself until I have hundreds of keywords on page one again.
Same. Just noticed that one website recovered a lot yesterday. Got a lot 10th-20th places again. My keyword tracker looks green again, but nowhere where I used to be, just yet.
