Jagger2 results are displaying here: http://66.102.9.104 It will stay here for 1-2 weeks and then spread up slowly.
Google Guy said "next several DAYS"... http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/jagger-2-update-info/ So - they figured they might test it for a while before spreading it throughout Google... What a novel idea! Caryl
Currently I'm not seeing any differences on that datacentre for the keywords I'm monitoring, but I guess Matt Cutts did say it may take a couple of days for the whole update to be visible on that datacenter (66.102.9.104). So guess I got go to keep those fingers and toes crossed for a couple more days to see the well deserved (wishful) improvements in my SERP positions to be visible.hehe
I like what I see on that data center, looks like I might jump a spot to 12 for my #1 keyword - I was hoping something like that would happen on my birthday, yay
Worst... update.... ever.... My site, with hundreds of natural backlinks and which is entirely about 'vbulletin skins,' has dropped 18 slots... ranking behind 8 different vbulletin-powered forum posts that happen to mention 'skins' in them. I don't understand how the root page of a domain (almost 2 years old) which is entirely about a certain topic can rank so far behind forum posts that happen to mention that topic but are on unrelated root domains.
What tool are you guys using to see the changes? Or you just going to <insert ip address hree> and checking the SERP results manually? Cos where I am looking is still showing the same results (as per my last post).
Even more humorous... Throughout the 1st phase of the update I had dropped from #1 to #3/4 for the phrase. Now that I'm around #20, my #3 slot has been taken by a DP thread I made about my own site. How is that for irony.. I lose my slot to a DP post I made about myself. BIG FORUMS = way overranked
Try http://w w w.mcdar.net/q-check/datatool.asp Lucky. Choose datacenters ending in .104 to see the new results.
Holy Cow I cant beleive it, I am finally showing in google serps! I am first for a few keywords and in the top 10 for others! I was nowhere to be seen and I mean nowhere, the best I was getting was 500th place and all of a sudden the hell I have been through for the last year is paying off.
That sucks vBMechanic. I think that is one of the main characteristics of the Jagger1 phase, big sites have benefited big-time. I hope Google knows that bigger does not necessarily mean better. I think you will recover however so hang in there! Big sites and a lot more spammy sites than usual. Only for the fact that April was a few months ago I would be convinced this update was an April Fool's joke.
Instead of doing my own SEO work, I've decided to just use Digital Point threads. It still holds my #3 ranking for me, so I guess I won't complain. BTW, Jagger2 is still in progress and 3 is still to come.. so nothing so far is final in any way. A juicy bit from GoogleGuy at WMW: So rankings aren't over till the fat lady sings.
Thanks for pointing that out. Well not too happy with the results so far, a site of mine that was ranked #4 (for a fairly competitive keyword term) before falling in the void that is Jagger to 800 or some-such, has ONLY returned to 40 or so, and it isn't even the homepage, but some sub page of the site. Another site of mine has come from the 800s, all the way to 170 or so, WOW..maybe I will get 1 more visitor a year with that rank...hehe..it was there (I believe) before the Jagger update (so basically looks like it is returning), think the site it is just working its way out of the sandbox cos it is a newish site in a very competitive term.
