The reason I asked about the PR8 is G shows zero backlinks to www.zonebot.com - it's just one of those things where it actually looks like you've been penalized (of course I may be mistaken) but PR8 just seems a pretty big stretch.

Good luck with it just the same :)

and since so many people on here have been rude to me I will no longer give out free help.

I put allot of work into my sites which benefit everyone and to get such response all because some communist bastard calling himself nodeiety puts up false acusations...

Anyway, I will no longer help anyone for free.

    Hmmm..

Well I know you're not referring to me - I've certainly not asked for your help (or perhaps I have and I don't recall ?) anyway - I'm not trying to be offensive and I apologize in advance if I've come across that way - but I simply look at things on their merits.

The point being that although PR is not what it used to be, a PR8 is not something to ignore. You've got to realise there are plenty of ppl who jump the gun, make assumptions, and even go so far as to compare apples with oranges.

When someone makes claims of pending PR8, in an environment where PR can't even be reliably ascertained anymore (short of the odd directory or two), fully aware that high PR is the only thing that's going to drive involvement for most, it needs to be demonstrated somehow.

ie if you had said I'm on board internet.com's revenue sharing program, or pointed out a few high PR links, I'd see the potential and leverage it through your site (provided of course it passed PR).

But you're keeping it to yourself.
    Fair enough.

How am I (or anyone else) to have confidence in your PR8 claim ?

Look, just sit back and wait. I am not selling links on ZoneBot.Com anyway. ANYONE can add their links to my directory.

The directory/site will have a PR 8 in the next update. It will have no less that PR7 but I am pretty confident it will be PR8.

    Oh well.. I tried.

You know, you asked for an improvement to your reputation in an alternate thread, in exchange for tips on locating High PR linkage.

    I think I'll wait

    I know.

If you have a look at my sig, you'll see an experimental site that receives it's PR (3) exclusively from my DP sigs.

What eludes me is why a webmaster who can pull a PR7/8 out of the hat would *need* his sig back ?

Mind you, if he *does* pull a PR8 out of the hat, I'll be the first in line to post on his directory. :)

The second the PR update comes up nobody will be able to add links to our directory for free. It will cost $50 per year! Why? Because there are too many parasites in the world.

And it'll no doubt be would be worth every penny. !

But I'm always cautious when ppl make high PR claims. Especially where pay for PR is concerned. There are a lot of parasites out there - here's an example of parasitic behaviour that has no doubt caught WMs in the past - especially where high PR directories are concerned.

Cloaking for the sake of bogus PR.

Imagine a site that was redirecting it's homepage (301 whatever) by way of cloaking to a PR* Page. Suddenly the TB carries a PR* for that site. Of course the content the end user sees is not a redirect, but what looks like a wonderful PR* directory. It's extremely easy to do, and before you know it, everyone's knocking on their door.

If it's done properly no one's any the wiser because there are now so many unpredictable variables involved. And after all, the WM's sought the link to save time they don't have investigating the legitimacy of the site in the first place.

And if reciprocation is part of the bargain, well, they only need to keep it up for a few months (a single PR update now) before going legit. By then they have the base they need, and some piss money taboot.

So you understand why I typically ask WM's to qualify such claims. Take Bluefind/Seven etc. It requires just 2 to 3 minutes of backlink checking to clarify things. You can see where they get the PR.

    :)

John, I understand your concern perfectly.

When the time comes you will see where our PR will be coming from as well.

I do not use any redirect methods at all.

    A. I have never seen one of his sites with a pr7 or pr8;

    b. He gets PR by posting on sites like this a few hundred times with his sig everywhere.

You keep saying "We" and "Our" who is your partner? Is he any more credible than you- or is he a figment of your twisted imagination?
