I've got to say, I only just read about it a few days ago, but Duncan Carvers Link Management Assistant (the directory software being used) is certainly growing on me. Not bad for yet another directory script.

The frequency of queries to the Google Toolbar servers is worrisome (with each page load), but beyond that, it seems a fine piece of work. It also checks reciprocation status when reciprocation is enabled (for those who keep asking about it :).

PS - I think zonebot looks just fine ;) !

Just added a couple and will be back with more later.

I was getting a error on the confirmation page and none of the top links worked. Not sure if it is just something with my browser settings. Anyone have this problem?

Due to spam it now requires reciprocal links but it will always remain free.

    Let me qualify this.

I just spent 3 hours deleting a spammer's links. he/She submitted their url 500 times everywhere. Here I am trying to help people and as usual, I get screwed.

So now the reciprocal link is required AND the software checks for reciprocal link URLs on regular basis, every week. If you remove the reciprocal link the directory will remove yours.

I am so sorry it had to come to this, I really hate it when one arsehole ruigns a good thing. :(

Sorry to hear that ....they are just useless gits ... how long do they really think they will get away with it? I had one recently on our Ski site blog paste in hundreds of links on a comments page! Good grief!! Bit easier for me to remove tho!

Why don't you store IP with the links so when you find one bad one you can delete all with a simple SQL statement?

About PR showing, I found that a lot of people who even are internet browsing wise web savvy (not the webmaster folks who are web savvy) do not have a clue about PR and don't care either. So from the browser point of view I doubt its usefulness.

The PR is useful for me cause I am seeking qualified link partners for my other 20 websites :D

if 1000 people add reciprocal links to the category the category site will hit PR7. Then the sites of those 1000 will go up in PR as a result.

When my Cat hits PR7 Google will include it in their "preffered cache" system which will make the category and sites in it high in Rank.

Forcing people to give back links will not stop spammers even remotely. They will just put in a bogus link location on the chance you will not check it. Some simple script modification can get rid of all pending and if you like to fix there butts all submitted sites as well and block the ip at the push of one button.

Uh, nobody can list their site before the link is verified and then the script checks all reciprocal links every week and automatically notifies the owner that their link will be wiped out in 3 days.

That's too bad. Spammers are internet scum. Rad!

Any how, rather then a reciprocal link requirement, how about just limiting the number of submissions per email address?

I listed my sites in your directory a couple of days ago. Thanks for that!

That might slow em down a bit, but who here doesn't already have 10 email accounts? Not to mention the capabilities to add 100's more? Personally, that solution wouldn't slow me down if I wanted to spam this directory.

We have redone the whole site.

    Check out the new look!

We also expect the directory to have a PR8 soon.
