Zindexica.com Directory Reopened - Free Submissions

3 -4 year old general directory with free submissions that went dormant for a while after getting tired of fighting spam is back up and doing well. Only a PR1 now, but will change in the near future.

Highly selective and well edited. All submissions must follow the rules strictly.
Free submissions accepted, no reciprocal required, get in now while the queue is low. Last time things got out of hand fast and people had to wait a long time.

Nofollow is not used! Even for free links.

Featured listings also offered. See site for details.

Express Review offered for people who can't wait.

Sub cats are growing, you can't suggest sub-cats, but if we see the opportunity for a new category, it will be done.

    Top reasons links get rejected:
    1. No reply to the confirmation email -- auto delete, so pay attention
    2. Totally wrong category
    3. Poorly written title or description; or spammy title and/ or description.
    4. Artificial satellite sites that have no real original content.
    5. Incomplete websites (broken links, under construction pages, etc)

If you avoid these problems you have a good chance.

    Additional Issues to Note:

-Don't choose a category just because there are fewer links. It must be the most relevant to your site. Blatent disregard for accurate category selection will lead to rejection.

-Some top level domains are banned (.ru for example)
-Many Proxy browser ips are banned
-If you hack the submission page and bypass payment for paid links, you'll get banned
-If you submit a boat-load of garbage sites, you'll get banned.

The directory is actually carefully edited, so garbage sites won't get in.. don't waste your time.

** Zindexica.com only accepts PR0 - 10 - if the site submitted has NO PR you won't get past the submit page. Sorry, but this helps reduce spam since most spam are NO PR sites. Also NO PR sites are usually either brand new, or penalized sites... so we don't want them.

    Enjoy!

Interesting - tried submitting eHealthSites and received an error message regarding proper capitalization. The proper site name is with a lower case e. Odd that a previous submission of another site with a lower case letter at the beginning of the site name appears to have been accepted.

<added> My mistake - that's not an error message. ;)</added>

Best of luck with your project.

    @CReed

Yes, its not an error, its a "helpful hint". I get a lot of submissions with all lower case and it just looks bad. Trying to keep it clean and uniform. Words like "eTailer, eCommerce... etc are fine. But, "free health directory" is poorly capitalized and looks dumb. As you know, who has time to correct spelling and grammar. So I put those instructions up loud and clear.

Thanks for submitting. I see your submission, but you didn't confirm the email, so its in the "NO" queue. Check your junk mail, and do the confirmation and you're in.

    thanks.

I really do appreciate the attempt to cut down on spam, but I'm not receiving the confirmation email. Catch-all, no spam filter.

You must be the luckiest directory owner ever, our General directory is about .001%, would appreciate any tips.

    Best of luck!

I didn't realize that was high. Maybe its because most of the crap doesn't respond to the email confirmation. We don't count them, only the ones we review.

You must get good quality submissions for 17% approval, I end up rejecting about 99% of submissions as most are spam or for spammy sites.

For my directory, 17% is a statistical reality-- calculated -- number. Not a feeling. It feels like 99% sometimes.:p But, the deal is,
    - we only review sites that confirm the email. Of the one we actual review, 17% get approved.
    - We use CAPTCHA with 7 digit entry,
    - we ban IPs and emails that repeatedly violate rules
    - we ban whole top level country domains like .ru (nothing good ever comes from there -- website-wise).
    - We ban proxys.
    - We reject "No PR" sites/ pages.
    - We only allow the domain to enter the directory once (can be a deeplink or the home page, but not both)
    - We don't allow duplicate Titles

And more.. So we narrow the possibilities. Some consider this too many restrictions as you may lose legit submitters. So what. Mostly genuine every-day webmasters who want a good link even bother with it. Cuts down on the crap, and makes it so much easier to maintain.

We also add our own links for sites we find on our own. All adds up to a relatively clean directory. Like I said before we don't count auto-rejected for not confirming the email. That seems to be a lot of submissions. maybe it would be about 6% if we counted them.

We also don't count sites that we remove later on for going bad or going away as rejections.

Now if I could only get the site's PR up... it would be on its way.
