I have a blog that exists for several years and it has something around 150 visitors per day (not pageviews). It has AdSense for about 14 days and not a single click was issued up to now. How normal is it? I know blogs are not the ideal place for AdSense and it surely does not help that it is in portuguese, but considering the amount of visitors, do you think it may be some technical problem? I do not use javascript, frame or anything. Just plain XHTML. I can see the ads and have checked the code, which seems ok. in portuguese? i think it's because google don't have enough portuguese ads. i have a chinese site, it took me 2 months to get about couple cents a day. and i have 2000 visitors per day.
That's true, the ads are not always well targeted. But ZERO clicks? Optimization is impossible with this level of clicks and I see no posts in the forum saying "increment your income by 1 cent!", it is always "double your income", which keeps me with zero
I think you should place your ads above the fold like most of us are doing. It is hardly to see you ads in the first glance. I have to scroll down to almost the bottom to see the ads. I suggest to place it right under the navigation and watch your CTR! You blend the Google Ads quite well with the color theme of your page! just re-position it and you will see the difference.
Agree with above just did not see them and if people like us cannot see them then the visitors will not ever Play around with placement and colours and track the results - giving each trial a week and then go with what gives you the results I for one do not like loosing lots of visitors but if they cannot find what they are looking for on a site of mine then I want them to click an ad...
Thanks. In the index page I will keep as it is. Who visit the index are usually friends of mine and I surely don't want to bother them with ads. However, each post has an individual file and those files are reached by people from google (that's where the main traffic is). There the ads were below the post, I have it on top now: http://www.pontomidia.com.br/ricardo/arquivos/002193.html Thanks all for the considerations. BTW, i guess it was not technical problems after all, since after posting here there was 2 clicks and U$0.07! I left zero, now I can multiply it
I checked your page using the AdSense Toolbar and got 12 ads from Brasil, 4 Portuguese ads from US, 6 Port/Spanish from Spain, 5 from UK and so on. "Você ten que dar o jeito." I suggest you change the ad background (on top) to grey and fonts to black. Besides, you might wish to place a skyscraper at the left matching your menu style. Last but not least, you need much more visitors to improve your CTR.
Have you considered doing multiple translations? Some of it can be automated with final edits by hand which should be easy for you. Your English is very good and assume Spanish wouldn't be too hard either. It would open it up to a much larger audience.
I just checked your site, I saw one adsense block so that's working ok I think. If your intention is to get people to click on the ad instead of reading your interesting content (I cannot tell, portuese is too much habla habla pele for me) you could try giving the borders of the AS block a different color. Red or Blue. try it for a week, see what happens.
its generally hard for blogs to get clicks.i own a blog too and it has adsense on it.i get only a few clicks from it,coz most of the readers are regular visitors,so they are not usually interested in the ads. what i do is,i dont have pop up comments.instead, when readers click the comment link,it will be an individual archive page, like http://www.pontomidia.com.br/ricardo/arquivos/002193.html so i can put some ads after the post and after the commenting section. hope that helps.
I do not agree with this. With a unique content, quality blog, and good adsense placement, you can make some good cash. About adsense not showing on different languages: My experience showed that using adsense on a foreign language site is not worth. It pays 3 cents/click and there are other programs out there which pay more. good luck
Apart from the language, a forum is not the ideal place for adsense. You have 150 visitors a day, these visitors come to your forum and are not searching and looking for anything else, at least most of them. Only special appaeling ads are successful. 1% is common for good forums, in your case this might be far below that %.
Are there success stories about AdSense in blogs? Any of you handle to make some relevant quantity of money through AdSense in your blog?
there are from what i heard..i know of one blogger who blogs about tech news who are doing well with adsense.
