Introduction

ZEGU is a custom developed and coded website. Since launching the site in January this year and releasing a press release - http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2007/1/emw495814.htm - I have not marketed or promoted the site at all. For reasons detailed below I am choosing to sell it. Everything about the site is customizable and it has a proper administration backend. The domain itself is a 4 letter .com and one of the few actually pronouncable, it is valuable within itself.

What is ZEGU?

"ZEGU was created with two types of users of mind: the person who'll buy anything as long as its a bargain; and also the person who is searching for a particualr bargain. They're really one in the same though - people out to get a good deal!

There are literally hundreds of "deal" and "coupon" shopping sites out there. They advertise various specials at online stores, and then most send you through to the store via a special link so that they get credit for any purchases you happen to make. This is fine, but how do you wade through all the rubbish that is posted, or how do you keep track of all the deals going on quickly and easily? Simple, you use ZEGU.

We have taken the best, most reputable deal sites, and placed all of their latest deals on our website. Not only that, but thanks to a handy technology called RSS, we are able to keep those latest deals updated for you automatically 24/7.

ZEGU also has another feature that we should probably advertise a little more, deal search. Enter whatever you are looking for in that little box in the top right corner of the site (e.g. "ipod") and we will automatically find all the best deals for any and all iPod products that have been featured by our deal feed partners. Basically, it's one way that you can try and ensure you are getting the best possible deal for whatever product you intend on purchasing."

Site Features

In terms of what ZEGU is, there is an about page on the site which can be found here - http://www.zegu.com/about.html. This page should explain to you pretty well what the site can do. Here's a brief rundown though:

RSS feeds taken from various deal sites around the web and updated automatically via cron
All feeds are selectable by the admin and their order can be changed, more can be added, deleted, etc
Via a cookie, site visitors can customize the order of the deals, how many deals they see, font size, and whether links open in a new window.
User can enter a search term (eg iPod) to see all the deals posted on that product
Has "headlines" feature, although I am not sure if this is being updated automatically (I will contact the developers about this, but can not guarantee it). You can manually update it by deleting and readdding the feeds in the backend.

Visitors are basically all from the United States and referrers are from the press release, bookmarks and type ins.

Income

I have not really tried to monetize the site, the only potential source is from the affiliate links at the top under the header.

Why am I Selling?

The reason I am selling ZEGU is because I simply don't know how to promote it properly. I know the potential is there for it to be a very useful site for people, but my specialty is video game sites (the bread and butter of my earnings), and affiliate marketing. Beyond the press release that I did for PRWEB when ZEGU was launched -http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2007/1/emw495814.htm, I simply haven't done any marketing or promotion, and I guess that is reflected in the stats.

Payment Details

Payment via Escrow or Paypal with a split fees structure. I live in Thailand so bank wire is probably not the best option.
