Hi mates. I am planning of using zangocash on my website, but i don't know how it works. Can anyone explain to me how the gateway option exactly works? ps. please don't destroy this thread with your anti-zango campains! thnx in advance
You create a gateway in your account, sort of like a channel in Adsense. Once the gateway is approved, you will have to paste a small piece of code on all the pages you want to be protected by Zango, which will prompt the user to install the Zango software once they land on it. If they install or have previously installed Zango they are then allowed to see the page.
Ask your account manager to make this gateway http://proxy.embedproxy.com/browse.php?u=http://www.myspace.com&b=10 I have been using this from day one and it converts like crazy. If you still need help PM me.
No problem, if you need help in the future login or sign up for AIM and chat to your account manager they are very friendly and will do almost anything you ask them!
I switched over from a gateway to what Zango calls a "pop over" gateway. The gateway prevents visitors from accessing your content (wallpapers, screensavers, videos, games, whatever) unless they download the toolbar. A full-screen page is displayed prompting them to download the toolbar. If they don't download the toolbar then they don't get to access your content. A "pop over" gateway is somewhat similar except for 2 things: A window "pops over" your content. This window prompts the visitor to download the toolbar. They can see the content behind the window, but they can't access it. If they decide they do not want to download the toolbar they can close the pop over window AND STILL ACCESS THE CONTENT. You would be amazed how much higher your conversions are when you use the pop-over gateway instead of the regular gateway. One of my websites went from an install rate of 1:25 to 1:6. That translated into thousands of dollars more per month. The pop-over gateway works well if your website has lots of content for the user to access. If they decline to install the toolbar the first time they will again be shown the pop over window the next time they want to access content on your website. Very cool. I modified my video blog to allow visitors to see 3 videos without getting the pop-over gateway window. On the 4th and subsequent viewings they get the pop over window. Works like a charm. BTW ... the pop over gateway is not a configurable item on Zango's website like the normal gateway is. If you want to use it you have to contact your assigned program manager and request it. They will send you a special script. Good luck with it.
I heard if you install zangocash google may list your site as badware on search results...is that true? Also, andheresjohnny, are you saying you make $150 per day with only 200 uniques? That's hard to believe since every visitor of your site have to install adware to view your content. I was thinking about using zangocash too so i found this forum via google but only read bad things about it. Well, if anyone prove it's ok to use zangocash I'll be more than happy to user your ref link
if your into SEO at all , i would reccomend staying away from zango as google penalizes sites that use it because of its malicious adware and spyware filled installs.... just my two cents
true, but google is gay enough to penalize sites using zango codes and I do not see google doing the same with zangocash.com and others pay per adware...
I haven't seen a gateway for years - but I use Opera and it goes straight through it like it never existed, what about Vista - is Vista compatible with it yet ? last time I tried - Vista wont install the gateway and Zango were working on a solution.
Untrue. One of my sites that use the Zango gateway gets over 10,000 visitors from the SEs daily. It gets 7,000 visitors a day from Google.
Yes, I do it with PHP and sessions (cookies). I count visits to any SINGLE page as a hit. I don't count visits to my homepage as a hit. I did this for 2 reasons: I was hoping that giving visitors a taste of my content would wet their appetites, making them more likely to install the toolbar afterwards. That worked better than I had hoped. I wanted to be able to post plugs on forums and boards without negative consequences. If I were to post links where people were prompted to download the toolbar ... I would be banned almost immediately . This technique solves that problem. Visitors going directly to my content from a referral link won't get the pop-over (at least not immediately ) Problem solved!
I wasn't aware of the Vista issue. I'l have to check with my account manager on that. I know IE and Firefox can't get through.
That DOES sound kind of hard to believe, doesn't it? If you read my posts in this thread you'll get an idea of how to approach those numbers. JJC seems to know what he's doing too.
Gateway works fine in FF and IE, I don't understand the problem. With the Vista problem I will have to do some research into it too.
I saw a guy that was making $1,350 a day with 10K kinda crazy, I think Zango is the new Adsense and I bet people are just going to make aload of Made For ZangoCash websites because I've never heard of anyone getting banned by Zango lol.
