    Is zango stealing clickbank sales?

until recently i have bought a major banner advertisement on a top site wich installed zango content. They require you to install zango on your computer to access their content. My banner brought me about 850 clicks and still no sales, when i use to have a conversion of about 1:200-240

I have tested it by installing zango on my computer and clicking my own link. i get on the publisher's page with the affiliate ID. when i click the "pay" button, a zango pop-up advertissement literally "overwrite" my page and i find myself.....on the same publisher's page. however the url has changed and when i click the "pay" button again, i check at the bottom of the page and the affiliate ID has changed.

What can you guys tell me about those theifs? is there any way to counter their lame hijacking?

I hate zango - I've made money w/ them in the past, but their stuff seems so shady. I'd hate to think that I could lose a CB sale because the person I'm promoting to has zango software on their computer. I think that cookie overwriting is against CB's TOS. You should report your findings to CB, and be sure to include the affiliate ID that is constantly overwriting your own.

As a matter of fact - I'd love to know what the affiliate ID is so that I can keep an eye out for it in my own merchant sales. And track where they are coming from.

Yes. They are cookie replacing scum. I think someone ought to go sue them. Again.

i know they were spotted by the governement and forced to pay 3.5M$ for their crimes. However they have started to distribute the spyware again. only, this time its a little more subtle because they use more than a single affiliate name and the cookie only works 85% of the time or so. Honestly i think the whole zango network should be disbanded or watched from very closely and their current owners and administrators should be sentenced.

Since they did have legal action against them before the authorities will pay attention to new complaints. You should Google for the details on the legal action and then file a complaint with the agency that prosecuted them.

Zango Sucks. I have never made any real money with them.. but if this is really going on they should be sued again and disbanded.

yes Zango does this. you can even buy targetted keyword ads on zango which will replace other people's affiliate IDs with your own. that's why they are so hated....its easy money if you put them on your own sites but in the long run you are hurting yourself and other honest webmasters.

    God this is crazy!

I don't know much about them but after this thread, I'll stay as far away from them as possible.

    Thanks for the heads up.
