What is Yutter?

Yutter is a directory site where website owners come and pay to be listed on the website.

I have not actively maintained it for over a year and there have been little new listings during that time.

Profit

During the year of 2007 for the 6 months I actively promoted Yutter, we got over 380 paying listings ranging from $10 to $40.

To this day it is still profitable even with no new paid listings. The amount of money I made during those few months have been more than enough to keep it hosted and up.

Traffic

According to my Webalizer stats Yutter.com gets about 46,000 hits a month, that is with absolutely no promotion what so ever.

Software

The software running Yutter is proprietary. It was made by me for Yutter and Yutter alone. It does not have an admin backend. All backend work is done in a MySQL client like phpMyAdmin.

Opportunity

You could easily take control of this site and make some good money off of it immediately by selling ads on it. You will make even more money by actively promoting the directory on forums like I did. I did it part-time for a few months and made over $12,000.

Before it was a directory

Before I turned Yutter into a directory is was an RSS to email service much like FeedBlitz and what FeedBurner now offers. This was back in 2005. You can take this and do what you wish with it. New owner is under no contract to keep site or listings as-is -- although I would hope they would build on what I have already started and keep the listings active.

Hi, nice clean website. But the site is 3 years old and still has pagerank 0.... why is that you think? Not some kind of penalty I hope?

 

I'm showing it has a pagerank, not coming back as 0 for me. I don't know why it would be 0 or penalized. I have no information/knowledge on that, I'm sorry.
