Yrika - A New Bookmarking Site Geared Towards a Broader Audience www.Yrika.com (pronounced eureka)

A new website has opened on the web that encourages people from all over the world to network and to share their links to favorite websites. Websites that involve link sharing are not uncommon. However, to find one that offers diversity along with an ease of use interface is quite rare. Yrika's easy to use and understand website appeals to everyone, from the most seasoned web surfer to the person who is surfing the web for the very first time.

With more and more of the younger generation browsing the Internet, it’s important for websites to be easy to use and Yrika is one website that delivers. The site is bright and easy to read, and there is no cost to sign up as a member. The service is completely free.

When signing up as a member, you are simply asked to create a user name and password, provide an email address, and verify that you are not an autobot by answering a simple question. Any other information that you provide in your profile is strictly voluntary.

It’s quite interesting to see where the other users come from. So far, the countries that are represented are England, United States, Canada, Sweden, and Israel. Not every member offers their country of origin, and it's not mandatory of course. But one thing for certain is that this site appeals to people from all over the world. The sites that are posted on Yrika do not need to be in English. Members are welcome to post links in to sites in any language that they would like.

Another thing that members are able to do aside from posting their own links is to review links posted by other members. This is important to remember, because this way members know that people are viewing the content that they took the time to post, and it gives you some fresh material to view on the Internet.

One of the goals of Yrika is to bring people of different backgrounds and different nationalities together. They want to make certain that everyone knows that they are welcome here and that no one will be turned away.

Yrika is still relatively small but considering the fact that it has not been on the web for very long, its small, yet growing group of members is encouraging. Visitors to the website, although they may be possibly unimpressed at first, should remember that the website is still in the beginning stages. It is encouraged that visitors check on the site in the coming weeks as the creators are still working on it, and by no means are they finished.

Yrika promises to be a favorite site for those who like to share their bookmarks and to meet other people, It is definitely a website to watch.

Not really a bug, but I submitted a bookmark that requires review (I suggested a category) and the bookmark title has appeared in the "Newest Reviews" section on the main page.

When I click on the title, I'm told that nobody has reviewed the bookmark yet and given no information about what the bookmark is. I would suggest not including links in Newest Reviews until they have been flagged as reviewed to avoid confusing your users.

    It looks great.

the only problem for me is the name. The fact you had to mention how it is pronounced is bad. I'm very compitent with the web, but I would have trouble remembering the domain name.

If you asked me next week how to spell it I would seriously not remember.

    This is bad.

For something this good, you need it to be brandable. Whilst you have a nice logo (very nice), the name is what is the problem.

Sure. The "eureka" idea is great, but even a lot of users would find that hard to spell.

If your going to come up with a word, make it something easy to spell and easy to remember.

It's a real shame. Really. I love the site, but it's too easy to forget the domain and site name.

Ideally you want something where when you say the name of the site, a user can type in how they think it's spelt, and it's correct. Or like with digg, someone will say: "it's just d,i,g,g dot com". Simple and memorable.

    EDIT:

To prove that theory. I actually tried to remember how it's spelt now. I thought it was spelt Yurika.com. Within 5 minutes I've already spelt it wrong. :(

nice site, good luck with it, i'd have to agree with Noddegamra about the name. It'll be hard for English speakers to remember it :)

Also I think you should strict the number of characters in names of the submitted pages. Because now I see "Bitter Coffee, Better Hea..." in newest reviews. Interesting headlines are broken :(

This is just the first thought at a first glance. Now I will sign up and probably will comment more.

P.S. I like your site and hope that you will market it greatly.

It would be better not to write "they" at "about Yrika" page, but to be more personal and refer to your subscribers as YOU. Yreka - we, subscribers - you.

Nice site buddy. Congratulations and good luck with it.

I have to agree with noddegamra though. Not that I would not remember the name, but I am sure many people would not. Also, the way it is written is very different from the way you want it to be pronounced. Yurika would work for eureka, but Yrika is more like whyrika.

Try to change the name now if possible. You are just starting and you better get a more brandable and easier name. I do not think the ''r'' after the ''y'' is working at all. You can still find nice domain names.

Anyway, good luck with your site again. I wish you the best. :)
