YPN : The future.

Since trying YPN my earnings (from google) have dramatically increased.

What do you think the future will hold? Will YPN stop paying the high amounts per click they do now? If so, when and by how much?

If MSN comes out with a similar program, and all three companies have to compete for our business, what will the effects be?

It seems like everyone that has been with Google Adsense long enough will tell you that when Adsense started out, their payments to publishers were far, far higher than what they are right now. I think that as their web expands, so does the ability for cheap advertisers to buy 20 cent clicks from them and actually get exposure on big sites which do not have competing keywords, which in turn gives you 10 cents a click or so (which I would say is the average).

Right now, YPN has two goals, first one, carefully hand pick and select good publishers and second, get big advertisers on board. During their beta period, I strongly think that YPN is not so interested in making money as they are interested in showing that they are a strong competitor to Adsense. Therefore, YPN is most likely giving close to 100% of the profit to the publisher. They know that in turn, the 2000 publishers they have chosen will come into message boards like these ones and tell everyone about the high paying ads, which will in turn make everyone want to switch to YPN away from Google once it goes public.

Nevertheless, I don't think YPN will stay this good for much longer (I am a YPN publisher myself), but if YPN steals Adsense publishers, which they most likely will, I am sure Google will do something about that, and so, the war will begin (and that's without mentioning that MSN is planning a CPC project of their own).

I have made $900/day with YPN on a day I've done $170/day with Adsense. I am sure many other people will agree with that ratio.

At the end of the day though, when all is said and done, I think that YPN will decrease, while Adsense will increase a little, and when MSN comes out, they're all gonna try to meet at the middle of the road. What matters is what company works best for the target audience of your website.

I'd probably give YPN another 6 months of glory, before these boards start flooding with the same kind of threads that Google publishers are posting nowadays in regards to revenues decreasing.

the more people who compete for publishers the better

unless they all collude and lower their payouts, which is possible

the competition should increase our payouts,

why would anyone stick with the company that pays less, hopefully msn will run their program just to break even and screw yahoo and google

hopefully yahoo will get their ads targeted better, I have only tried it on 3 sites but it does seem to pay a little more

I think it depends on your site. If you just need run of the mill ads ypn seems to pay better.

If you have special niche google seems to. Course there are exceptions.

I cannot wait for ypn to go international...i heard soooo many good things about it and most publishers are getting about 90% of the bid price which is really good for now but as time goes and they get more publishers and get a good market value and share in online advertising i think it will decrease the publishers share..but its still worth a try, millions of international publishers are waiting for it to go international..most of which have been banned from adsense or get 1 cent clicks..and other who were really impressed by these happy Yahoo publishers in forums...

on one of my photo sites the yahoo ads are terribly unrelevant so I get next to no clicks , but when I do they are like 10 times what google pays

Does anyone else get like tons of lending tree ads, regardless of your sites content?

The lending tree and vonage are part of yahoos network run of ads... yahoo displays those when they cant find anything to display or instead of psa's there are others also depending on how you categorized your site.

Right...and I like the Y! system better, because I don't have to worry about using ALT banners. If Y! runs out of inventory at any given moment, you'll at least have some ads displayed, and they are paying ads!

i think you will see Yahoo and Google balance out about the way Adwords and Overture have.
