YPN targeting has lost it's mind

Today I have ads for Plumbers, Doctors, Dentists and Real Estate Agents from California. The problem is have a tourist site for Santa Fe, NM. Ad Blocking has stopped working and ads that I had blocked a month ago are now coming back. Also I targeted my site to Travel, Vacations category but it has no effect and still sends me ads that have nothing to do with travel. With no ads that make sense I am getting hardly any clicks and when I do they are for very small amounts.

Is any one else seeing this?

Yea I have same issue. I talked to Yahoo! and posted what I found out to my blog. I covered a few things with them about this, relevancy and International rollout. According to them eventually ad targeting may go away. Ad targeting was not intended to be an option to what your site content is about. They say that it is supposed to fill in for bad relevancy. However, they are having an issue on some sites right now that are receiving totally off the wall ads and the targeting system is not working to fix it. They are working on the problem and trying to find out why some publishers are having the issue and some are not.

I just started with YPN and I just found targeting last night. I switch all my ads to TV as I thought my visitors would be more likely to click. So far better ads are showing up but I'm not too impressed.

Over all I think that Yahoo just doesn't have enough advertisers to make the targeting tools work great yet. This isn't like Google with years of advertisers.

    It's gonna take time.

Well I have pulled my tourist site from YPN and put up adsense for it just made no sense to run the site with plumber and doctor ads and no abiity to fix it. I still have some small sites with YPN and will see how they do.

That only makes sense to me. You will most likely do much better with ads that are relevant to your site.
