Ok, I've been using yahoo's rss ads for a couple months now, and I've recieved 1 click so far! I average over 200 people checking it out per day, which probably isn't that impressive to many of you, but I still think I should be making some money with that many people. I use google ads on my website, because I don't really like the ad options with yahoo, and I do pretty well with google. Does anyone have any suggestions for my rss feed? If I can't make money with yahoos RSS ads, would anyone else make a difference?
I believe most people block ads in RSS feeds. You can try to put other advertisement in your feeds but my guess is they are not clicked either.
So do you think I'd be better off just stopping my rss feed and hoping those 200 people just visit the site?
I doubt that those 200 would become regular visitors. Most people forget about a site anyways. Just don't put full stories in the RSS feeds. I only have a summary of an article there and if someone wants the full story they go to my site.
Its easy. However the standard yahoo rss impelementation for wordpress doesn't work if you use only teasers. Since I am not using wordpress, I manually hacked it into my rss generator. You may have to do the same (if you want to keep the rss ads).
The rss ads are worthless for me, I never get any clicks. I think I'm just going to sell my publisher account.
Not having link units kind of kills it for me. I did try yahoo for a little while, and my ad revenues were down.
You could show an affiliate link in place of the link units. I have them also as default page so I don't see any PSA. Maybe you can even style them to look like link units.
