YPN RSS outside WordPress or Movable Type

    Hello everyone,

I'm pretty sure everyone is excited about this new ad venue, and so am I. My problem is: I use neither of the supported scripts for my RSS feed.

I did call Y! on the issue, and the "customer advocate" (what a title, BTW!) said they have no immediate plans to release the actual XML code so it can be used in other systems. I had to say to her that the code is rather simple to decipher - just plug it into existing WordPress or MT code, get the feed and copy from there. She replied that they have no problem with me doing that, they are just not setup to support any other system than WP or MT.

Now, this is great, but there is still a problem here on my end: I do not have any WP or MT installed on any of my sites and to install them just to decipher the code would be a real PITA.

Can someone familiar with either one of the systems comment here on the values of these variables (functions):

    WordPress:
    What does the_ID() function return?

    Movable Type

What value is in this variables:
    MTEntryID and MTEntryLink

Any comment is greatly appreciated or even simply a link to a site with YPN RSS already running.

    Thanks!
    D.

I have Blogs with blogger.com I just post using their online editor and ping each blog daily. I checked the 'settings' then 'site feed' and I see that all BLOGS on blogger.com use something called ATOM.
and each BLOG is submitted to a news feed if you just select the option, 'Publish Site Feed'
it gives your blog an url like:
    http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml

So when selecting the "Register a New RSS Feed' option with YPN RSS code what format do we select with blogger.com and ATOM ?

    WordPress
    - OR -
    Moveable Type

I use b2evolution, which was based on movable type. I was able to follow the rss2.0 instructions and paste the code before the last </description> tag.

Like others I haven't seen any ads yet but when I view the feed in ie I can see the code after each post.
