Hi, I had an active YPN account about a year or so ago, and they eventually dropped me for having a lot of international traffic, at the time they where paying out a lot more then adsense was, and I was just curious if the payouts are still as high, as I was thinking of trying to get back in the program. Thanks. Also is there ad targeting any better yet?
Been wondering about that. Too bad - the market would have been strengthened by a strong competitor. Hopefully this ASK ppc thing will pan out...
I will second and third that.. Last month was clearing around 50.00 a day.. This month.. I am lucky to get around 10.00 a day.. This really truly Blows Chunks.. Darrell
Yes, their payout is still higher per click. But their targeting still sucks. Google adsense earnings have gone down the toilet the last couple of months. Don't know if this is something temporary but Yahoo now pays far more per click than Google adsense.
YPN CTR = 0.2% Google CTR = 1.78% Since July, I make more money with 30% of my traffic that see googleAds. Anyway in my niche (food) they both pay CRAP.
YPN has been going down since last november....half of my sites do not even show ads most of the time...no matter how many times I contact YPN and tell them about the problem nothing changes.
It's not about traffic, it's about the type of traffic, and I guess the content. Maybe I just got lucky. I got accepted with a site that was just 2 months old, and it still gets less than 1k uniques. But most of the traffic came from the US. Simple answer to the first question: No. I had one site which I made about $30/day, now it might make $10, sometimes $15.
For me the payout is no better than Google and like everyone else has mentioned the ad targeting is a total joke. So there really is no point in using YPN at all. Why use a service that pays no better than the competition and delivers ads that are completely irrelevant to the intended audience. I do not believe YPN could be any worse if they tried. It's time to crack open the wallet and hire away the Google team, sell out to Microsoft (who also can not deliver a product to compete with Google) or just throw in the towel and scrap the whole thing.
Yes, YPN payout has gotten worse and ad targeting is as bad or worse than it ever was. I just converted my last two YPN pages back to Google. When YPN payouts were higher, these two pages were making more money than with Adsense, even though the ads were not well targeted to the page contents. Now, in the last couple of days the Adsense pages are paying out over twice as much as YPN. In my opinion, Yahoo does not have a competitive product and should withdraw it from the market, at least until they are willing to put the effort and resource behind it to make it work.
