YPN Payout over the course of a day [A definite trend for me...]

I am noticing a trend where I earn 60-70% of my payout for the day between 12AM and 6AM (6 hours), then the other 30-40% trickles in during the course of the day (18 hours) until Midnight again.

Do publishers have a daily 'allowance' that I just run through in the morning or something?

Don't you think its because that is when most users are browsing the internet?

Between midnight and 6AM ? Not really.

My traffic logs show the bulk of my traffic between 1pm and 5pm.

First post here, please forgive my abrupt entrance. :)

I had to say "YES!" I have noticed the same thing for a few weeks now really - mainly since around 2 maintenance updates ago. Once late morning hits, I dont' expect my earnings to do anything drastic unlike past months where it just continued to climb.

This can be the case if you are not geotargeting.

More than likely this is the answer. Advertisers' budgets are reset around midnight PST, so every morning the best high paying ads show. When their daily budgets run out, their ads are replaced by lower paying ads.

I know this for a fact, because of the extensive research I have done on my keywords and monitoring my site/stats all day long.

Hmm... care to elaborate? I understand what you are getting at, but I need some clarification.

That has been my theory for a month or two now. Perhaps time to find related category with ads that pay out higher for longer? What should we call them, 'Higher Endurance Ads' ? LOL

I have been tracking my site since September of last year, and have seen my numbers go down steadily, mainly to advertisers dropping. At the beginning, I was getting $3/click, and was able to get that through the course of an entire day.

Nowadays, I'm averaging a little over $1/click, and that's only lasting until just before noon, when low paying ads replace the ads whose budgets are being drained.

It's a fact of life. Trust me, I wish it were different. In February I had a day where my YPN earnings were mid $xxxx.....but I haven't come close to that lately. I just hope those advertisers that are left remain. Or new ones join.

I have had the exact same trend, since last October.

We will see what the eventual release from beta brings I suppose. $1 a click is nothing to scoff at, but relatively...

Seen the same thing here... trickle off from high to lower clicks still better than google but not a whole lot.
