I have been getting normal traffic today, however my revenue is down on YPN. Google is normal. Since I can't see how many clicks on YPN I am guessing that the pay rate dropped ? The ads do not seem to have changed.
contact them I mean they contact me all the time asking why my income has dropped. I tell them because payout drops... if payout drops it is not worth it for me to run the ads so i change to another source. Of course they say try again payout should be steady.... and i tell them no its not i said most time it is due to advertisers droping (for my case it is) so i told them they need more advertisers as obviously i am contributing to spending their daily budget
I was targeting yahoo as a test on 1 page. Only had 1 due to poor targetting. Clicks have progressed from a high of $4, then down to $1.50, now in the last few days I'm seeing $.09, and $.13. per click. This is much less than google average for clicks on similiar pages. Targetting is incredibly off for yahoo. I'm seeing student loans, vonage ads, pet meds, all completely off target to my topic. I know it's beta, and they need to get an advertising base in place first, but this is crazy.
I agree the biggest issue is the advertising base as due to advertisers constantly changing or leaving there is major flux in earnings from day to day or week to week.
Why do people talk about their "best days ever" when others are speaking about their pay going down? It seems a little insensitive.
on my sites the cpm just keeps dropping and the targeting is so bad my clickthru is about 8 times lower with yahoo than google the only reason i kept yahoo running is because without a doubt before i was earning more with yahoo but now i'm starting to wonder if i should put back adsense
I don't have YPN, but don't you think waiting to see how it does for the overall month, or at least a week, would give you better evidence from which to make a conclusion, instead of just going with what happened on one day?
From looking over the past several months, the big hit for me came Jan 1 - I have seen an overall 35% drop on that date.
I found my main problem. One of my large channels has been fluctuating like crazy. From $2XX CPM to $1X CPM, imagine that.
