YPN On Accidental Clicks Of Your Ads

Discussion in 'Publisher Network' started by wentworth, Oct 17, 2006.

Ok so I clicked one of my ads today by mistake so I called YPN up and they were very nice. They said they know these things happen and they zero the click out and I won't get paid for it and the advertiser won't get billed.

The guy on the line said they have a system in place to do this automatically.
He said there is no need to worry about it.

Why doesn't Adsense do this too?

Are you aware that YPN cannot be on the same page as other advertisers? On www.themostclicks.com you have 3 different advertisers including YPN, AdSense, and Bidvertiser.

Not to defend him, but he only had YPN ads there, the Adsense, and Bidvertiser links are the affiliate program and are not contextual, therefore not competing to the YPN program, if he placed the actual bidvertiser or adsense ad code there and not the affiliate buttons, then he would be in violation of TOS, but he is not currently violating anything.

That's the $64,000 question. They can easily implement the same policy, but they don't, and no one can say for sure why. To this day, people are still getting banned for nothing (or next to nothing) and only some get back in after begging G for mercy.

G is like the old British Empire, whereas YPN has a more American way of doing business.

    As always, IMO.

Google has an obsession with invalid clicks and seems to enjoy kicking people out because of them. But to this day I don't even know what makes a click invalid or why google can't just filter them out instead instead of holding the publisher liable. With all that advanced google tech it seems that woudn't be hard to filter them out automatically.

    Anyway, yahoo is better.

I agree YPN is improving. I got the most clicks ever yesterday and the targeting is getting better so Adsense doesn't have too many things on YPN now other than live channels.

Not true again. Yahoo DOES allow other contextual ads to be put on the same page. It is google adsense that does not like it.

Nope. YPN does NOT permit the use of any other contextual ads on the same page as YPN ads.

I don't think Yahoo will go international for awhile. They really have no reason to. Overture (IMO) is based on USA advertisers that want USA publishers.

I personally like having Yahoo all to myself. I can call them on the phone and talk to someone that speaks the language as well as I do. As far as I know, you can't call google?

Call G-00-gl_e? You'd have much better luck calling the Queen of England
