Has anyone received a large check from YPN? I have about 15k pending and I'm getting the jitters about having that much cash sitting over at YPN. I was just wondering if there were any hang-ups or extra hoops we have to go through for larger payments. Also does anyone know what YPN's stand is on sites specifically created for ads? This would also include having "one page wonders" sites. Thnx
15K, wow thats a lot. If you haven't done anything agains't the terms and condition don't worry about you. Yahoo is a big company and if you made 15K, you also halped yahoo make a lot of money and thats why they are paying you the money. So, don't think there should be any problems provided you are a legit publisher and I hope you are. Cheers and lets hope you get the money soon.
Yes, Yahoo pays. So far the only reports of being 'banned' that I've seen have been from having too many non-USA visitors and the banned been told they can come in when Yahoo allows other countries to sign-up.
Still waiting for my second check. The "whopper" should be coming next month. I have heard that alot of people are getting banned for having non US traffic so my advice is to keep it at a minimum. Afterall, there is no reason to lose thousands over something so stupid.
Man! 15K is my dream ! My first check is so important to me because it helps me decide how much effort i'm gonna put into this kind of job (dudes, if it works, i will quit my current job ) I don't want to make such a huge amount of money RIGHT AWAY... First check is more than 500 bucks, 2nd check is just around 200 bucks and if it works, 3rd check will be thousands. Wish me luck guys.
I would be careful about that. If you're relying on Yahoo, you have to remember that they are still in beta, and things could change at any moment - especially when they get out of beta. Even Google, which is obviously established, can change things on you in an instant and you go from making a comfortable living to looking for a new job in one day. ... Be careful not to put all your eggs in one basket. Build lots of sites and try to get multiple income streams. If you have only one or two sites, and you rely on traffic from Google search, for example, what happens if there's an algo change and suddenly your site tanks? It's happened to lots and lots of people, people with great sites that offer great material to their viewers. In fact, as a webmaster, you should probably plan on that happening at some point in time.
hi trivium, i appreciate your kind words. Thank you. At this moment, i am fully aware that i am just a newbie in this "field" and ofcourse, i will not quit my job just because of some checks from yahoo. Currently, i have a small system of websites and i want to expand it. As it (the system) grows to a certain degree (with certain income) then i will quit my current job. Being your own boss is always better. I think it will take a while for yahoo to go out of beta since i have recently noticed some bugs with the yahoo ads. Besides, the beta can be considered as a promotion compared to google Adsense. US publishers are happy. Yahoo has the freedom to excercise their technologies. And as long as the big companies (big guys with big ads campange) are happy then the "beta" part is still there. Do you think so?
