YPN is irritating

Dont you just love it how YPN seems to screw up stats? Nothing compares to checking multiple server stats, finding you've had well over a thousand visitors in 4 days... and then checking YPN only to find that Yahoo only picked up less than 200 of those. This is irritating because:

1.) my site was not "crawled to death"
2.) YPN hates me when I make more than $4 a day
3.) $0.15 ads no matter what targeting and ad blocking I use

Needless to say, I've applied to adsense. YPN seems determined to keep me at $12.

there are many reasons for this, your statistics software could be inaccurate, or they could be international visitors, you should geotarget your ads.

    Yahoo likes US traffic.

And their advertisers like US traffic as well.

If you have a lot of International visitors you may be even asked to stop using YPN. (They don't like those sites)

    Thanks

Great post, if everyone understood this concept there would be a lot less people getting banned.

when was the last time someone got banned for international visitors? its been months now since i have heard of any. while you still need to geotarget, i dont think this is as big a deal anymore as they are auditing out international clicks (where as before they were not). obviously, not geotargetting is a waste of revenue for publishers as someone (G) will pay for that traffic.

I think you will make more on AdSense, yet everyday you are risking getting kicked away.

From any tests I have done, ypn has way better targeting because they have the ad base to choose from. But no matter what, if you make $4 a day with ypn you may be lucky to make 20 cents with AdSense.

My last test site got me 1 cent per click with AdSense.

I havent seen any of the big money days with either program, in a long time, but I definately make more with ypn no matter what websites and subjects I test.

Geotargeting is key. I get a worthwhile added revenue stream by geotargeting my foreign traffic to Adsense. It's amazing how much money I've lost because I wasn't geotargeting...

Those may have been international visitors not US visitors.
