YPN Going Public in Feb?

I found a little article on searchenginewatch that makes me wonder if YPN is going public in Febuary.

"Last August, we covered how Yahoo planned to launch a new paid listings model more like Google AdWords, where clickthrough and other factors might impact ad rankings. Now via Marketing Pilgrim, there's a Forbes report that Yahoo has been testing the new system out in the wild -- well, Scandinavia.

Currently, Yahoo places a paid ad solely based on the amount you are willing to pay for the keyword. Google uses both price of the keyword and a "quality score" to rank the ad.

Yahoo has named this test project "Project Panama," where ads placement are now based on price and relevancy of ad."

Sounds like this will be good news for many current publishers and YPN should start seeing more targeted ads on their sites. This update to the system will be released the day after the Super Bowl according to Web Pro News. This combined with YPN going international in March leads me to believe that YPN may just be going public at least to U.S publishers sometime in Feb.

is already a publically traded company. Did you mean going into beta/live in the United States?

Their new Yahoo Advertising platform will be Live this week for ADVERTISERS.

As for YPN going out of BETA or international, haven't heard anything, yet.

Read Yahoo's blog they announce this on there. The advertisers part is going to be going public tommarow and YPN will be going international in March. Yes I clearly state that it is just my speculation that YPN will be out of Beta sometime in Feb as I dont see how Yahoo will be able to meet all the new advertisers demand with their current publisher base.

YPN isnt going public anytime soon. Lots of bugs to be worked out.

And stop confusing the publisher network with the advertising network. Two completely different platforms.

I am not confusing the two I know they are completly different. Read my posts I state both advertisers and publisher. My post says that the advertiser part is going public now and that I would expect the publisher part to go public soon to keep up with the advertisers demand. But again this is all just speculation based on supply vs. demand

YPN is taking ages to become internationally. MSN Adcenter also...and google adsense is rock and rolling without competitors.

Yea, but smart pricing has dampened the earnings on Adsense. With Yahoo and Microsoft taking ages, other options are becoming more interesting.
