YPN called and left me a message

I have been trying to become a ypn publisher for some time now. I sent in an application about a week ago and got a phone call yesterday. I listened to my messasges and I got really excited when I heard Yahoo Publisher Network. After waiting on hold for about 30 minutes I got through with someone. The person on the other end asked me a series of questions which were recorded. I am supposed to be getting an email back within the next few days letting me know if I got in or not.

The other times I just got an email back saying I wasnt excepted so im guessing things are much different this time. I am very happy!

Has this happened to anyone else?

I got accepted to YPN once, but they didn't call me. They just sent me an e-mail that I was accepted and told me where to sign up. I had to enter my social security number, but I stopped at that point because I didn't want to. Later, Yahoo people called me to see if I needed help completing the process...but I was never asked a series of questions.

He wasn't referring to Yahoo, he meant it could be a scam and not Yahoo.

I was one of the first publishers who signed on to the YPN BETA over a year ago now, and I received calls about once a month asking me stuff about if I liked the improvements they made to control panel or other features.

I was never called before I was acepted into the BETA.

By saying it could have been a scammer I think what he meant was it could have been someone else trying to get your identity or something. If you posted on this forum that you applied to YPN, and someone here has done business with you in PayPal, they can pretty much get your name, address, and phone number. If they call you and say they are from Yahoo and need you to verify your SSN or date of birth then it is more then likely a scam.

Absolutely...why don't you call YPN back and find out if they have a record of calling you..that way you will know whether or not it was a scam.

It wasnt a scam. The number I called back was the Yahoo Search Marketing number. They also never asked me for my social or birthdate.

The guy just told you he called back the number and it was Yahoo's. Plus they did not ask for his social. So what's the problem.
I think you should just log into Yahoo Publishers and set up your account and make money and enjoy. Good luck.

    Congrats on getting in.

I wonder if this is how Team YPN is vetting all new accounts now. Wouldn't surprise me, consider all the funny business going on with selling invites.
