Awhile back YPN accounts were being cancelled for supposedly low conversion rates etc..etc.. and alot of myspace sites were kicked out and people that were displaying YPN switched back to Adsense..now i see a few myspace sites are displaying YPN again (mysp@cemonk com) anyone have word on YPN been OK again???
Yes, some publishers will rent these sites from the owners for a while and move on, not too profitable for them.
i've been running YPN on some myspace and arcade sites since 2006 with no problems. my traffic generally is 90% US and obviously it must convert well enough. there is no specific ban against myspace sites - it was all related to people running non-targetted high-paying finance and real estate ads that started the bannings.....if you are already approved by them try putting their code on and see if you make more $.
i reiterate what i said in my post above - i've had no trouble with YPN on my myspace and arcade sites. i've even had direct discussions with YPN account reps as to the best categories to target for my arcade sites due to non-relevant ads showing up when not using targetting.
It doesn't appear Yahoo hates Myspace, but then again it might be because it's only running on selected pages. Also, it seems YPN has been devaluing the traffic since early 2006. YPN has not turned out to be the Adsense killer I had hoped!
I made mid $xx,xxx with only myspace / arcade sites and YPN, my account hasn't been terminated yet. Don't risk your account if you're already making bank from other type of sites that convert well
