On these forums there are frequently threads on things like. How to get to $X,XXX dollars a month in the first three months. Or on ways to make it rich quick using adsense. From my experience and many others on this board with adsense you have to be in it for the long haul. Rather than trying to pump a crappy site up and get big earnings for a few months and let it trail off to near nothing, spend more time on your site. You will end up making more in the long run. Make a site that is quality in the eyes of google and you will be making your X dollars that you wanted. And it will be there to stay. Get solid back-links and great content. Write great articles and so on and so forth. I think you have to be in it for the long haul. What do you guys think?
The long haul is probably the better option because that way you aren't just building your earnings slowly you are also building your site's value which is essentially an asset and with every passing month and with every extra dollar it earns is gaining in value. That said the internet is risky business long term as well. I mean how confident can you be that in 2 years time your site will be as popular as it is today or that AdSense will even be here. Sure you can make reasonable assumptions but at the end of the day we are dealing with rapidly changing technology - and no one can 100% certain of the future of it. So I can completely appreciate those that are going for the old "smash and grab technique". That said I realise that most people opting for the "smash and grab" technique aren't doing so because they believe AdSense is a passing fad rather because they are impatient people wanting to find their get rich quick scheme - well it's their loss.
Forward, long-term thinking is the way to go, but too many people have "Adsense fever" and have heard so much about how "easy" it is to make money with Adsense that they want it now now now NOW.
Yeah, and dont get me wrong with my thread. I too want more earnings than I get. And I dont think that will change when I get more. It is very easy to want 2 dollars once you see one. and you can add as many zeros behind them digits and the feeling will stay the same.
