    Increases popularity and thus increases sales or attention (if you are, say, a band or something)

    Its great for businesses and talent alike. Youtube is smart and notices videos that rise quickly, and when they do they put your video in front of more people because it is 'popular', and thus more sales, etc (or whatever you are after).
