YouTube videos won't display while embeded in posts?

    I tried embedding you tube videos in my posts, but they wouldn't work. I even went into youtube and filled out the form to put videos in a self-hosted wordpress blog.

    Any ideas on why this is? Or do I pretty much have to find some youtube wordpress plugin to get it to work?

    if using the new wordpress, you just hit the code before you post
    on the older ones you need to install the mod

    Try disabling visual rich editor is its enabled. On the dashboard go to options > Writing and under formatting you'll see visual rich editor.

    simply disable wysiwyg and insert the code into your post.

    Yah, I didn't want to upgrade to WP 2.2 because I didn't think all of my plugins etc. would work.

    Which video plugin would you recommend?

    No plugins needed,you just need to turn off wysiwyg and insert the code.

    Yah, I can't find the spot to do this.

    I'm using WP 2.13 by the way.

    I went into my dashboard > options > writing

    But I see no option to turn it off.

    aha,cormac gave the wrong info then.
    admin--->users--->your profile--->Use the visual editor when writing
    uncheck it.
