Dears, I have asked the same question on a google youtube forum, but no reply so far. I am curious how does youtube decide wether a video is or is not monetizable. Here's my post on google forum. Sorry for the big number of links, but I wanted to give some examples. I try very hard to figure out what kind of criteria does Youtube use in order to allow its users to monetize or not a video. I assume there is something automatic since I don't see Google employees watching tons and tons of videos. However, my question is this. How come these videos have been allowed to be monetized without any problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvMkToAIbqc While these two, containing exactly the same type of content are not allowed to be monetized: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL6lCXFlnBY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL6lCXFlnBY For sure, it has nothing to do with the length, because these two are also monetized: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUzDH1trjmc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXD8GSvJgx0 Thank you for answering.
This link "" is 9 seconds and this link "" 13 minutes. According to me, first videos length is too short for be monetizable. I did se only as possible.
It's not that. Because: 1. I have other 9 sec videos that are monetized, 2. This video is a concatenation of several short videos that is still not monetizable:
The video type and length have nothing to do with whether they let you monetize it. Much like when you get an adsense account you can use it to monetize any website, the same applies to the videos. The one you are looking at may well (and indeed is most likely) not be the one that youtube decided to allow the account to be monetized for. Also they have duplicate content checkers in place, as they are not so dumb as to allow a million and one people to put up an exact copy of a video that's done well and monetize it when the person uploading it has done nothing to deserve the right to earn money from it by simply posting a copy of it. You will find videos on youtube that are monetized that have millions and millions of hits that last only a few seconds that are still monetized. Therein lies the answer to your question - getting your first video approved for monetization comes down to views and lots of them. They wrote to me one day asking me to join the monetization program me, only days later did I notice one video had passed 10k views. I don't think you'll find they have a set number listed and I don't want to create an adsense myth by saying you must have 10k - I'm sure others will know more details as youtubes not a big thing for me. Once you're approved for monetization then as long as you own the rights to upload it then you can monetize it. Posting duplicate footage isn't going to earn you anything though.
I have 750 videos on my channel, out of which around 700 are monetized. My question simply resumes to the following: - I have 2 gaming captures from the same game (FIFA 14), around the same length. Why one is allowed for monetisation while the other not.
When the videos can not be monetized they always give some reason for that like any matched content or copyright issue or something like that please check that also and make sure to correct that....
" Also they have duplicate content checkers in place, as they are not so dumb as to allow a million and one people to put up an exact copy of a video that's done well and monetize it when the person uploading it has done nothing to deserve the right to earn money from it by simply posting a copy of it." a good explanation of the perversion of the fences policy for posting stolen material But what has g man done to earn money for simply posting a copy of stolen material? Because they are a monopoly? people are afraid to cross them? because they might retaliate against your site? According to several media calls I have listened recently too Gman offers copyright holders a "plea bargain" when they complain loudly [viacom, universal, warners, etc etc] that pirated material is on ytube they are offered the following pre court deal; we will remove the offending video as per your request.. or....we will give you a cut of the ad revenue for not suing us most media companies faced with the current political and piracy climate choose to "take the money" on the theory that; 1] any publicity is good publicity 2] 2 cent of a $1 [google gets the 98 cents] is better than facing eric holder at Justice who is bought and paid for by S valley gman is like the gambinos were back in the day..a protection racket for thiefs only they take a way bigger cut than the dapper don..100% Q? the poster of the stolen content and g man are both thief's if I help you steal a car .. you don't give me a cut? Why? If the law comes down we are both guilty of facilitating a criminal conspiracy So " Also they have duplicate content checkers in place, as they are not so dumb as to allow a million and one people to put up an exact copy of a video that's done well and monetize it when the person uploading it has done nothing to deserve the right to earn money from it by simply posting a copy of it." this may be the way they run the scam. but they are still greedy mfs keeping all for themselves they way you know they are full of it no matter what the ads runs.... duplicte-stolen-illegal no matter what ! when did you see this message "google has decided to not run ads on this video because it is [stolen][hate][illegal][duplicate] content" your still a flaming hypocrite even if you do have one of the most popular sites in the world
