I'm looking for a web-based script, paid or free to convert the sound from youtube videos into an mp3.

I just finished a Youtube to mp3 audio converter script if anyone is still interested.

 

check out iskysoft's iTube Studio,. they've got pretty good stuff going on. i personally use their software btw, so i'd recommend them cheers!

I see this thread was started several years ago, but I stumbled across it while Googling what is currently people's favorite YouTube to mp3 conversion site.

Seems there are quite a few to choose from now and they all seem rather similar.

For me, I like the ability to choose preferred bitrate for download. I also hate IN YOUR FACE ads, though they all seem to have ads of some sort.

So, what are your favorite sites these days in that regard? For me personally, it is http://www.convert-youtube.org but there are so many others.
