Are you kidding me? Youtube removed a video I uploaded that promoted one of my latest podcasts. It wasn't even a straight up advert I had one third of the whole podcast on there - a sort of best bits then a link to where people can go to listen to it all. This is what their terms say. You cannot "uploading an original video to YouTube, or maintaining an original channel on YouTube, to promote your business or artistic enterprise;" Thats probably half of what Youtube is! Out of all the videos that blatantly advertise, plug affiliate links and so on they do this to my little podcast teaser. What's worse is there is no way to even email Youtube to dispute it. I've seen people post ebooks here explaining how to get youtube traffic and sales. People even sell youtube traffic, so why am I penalized for one video? anyone else have similar experiences?
Did you use any copyrighted material that belonged to someone else? That is the quickest and easiest ways to get your videos deleted. There are some big names on youtube, like the BBC and the red hot chili peppers who use their videos to promote their sites. You should really offer some kind of other content in the video besides "visit my cool site". And yes, it is against youtube terms of service to make a video that "just" promotes your website. How many videos did you make? Was this your first video? Maybe you should make a few good non-advertising videos, then start pimping your site. Post a link to your youtube account, I would like to see what your other videos are like. My youtube account is in my signature, just in case your wondering what kind of videos I make.
Good. They can't remove them all due to the volume but the less spam on youtube, the better. I'm not saying your video was spam (you should upload it elsewhere so we can see why they removed it) but in general, I'm for removing promotion.
That is tough given that there are much worse things on YouTube. I would try re uploading the video and make it more relevant.
wow.. that's a new.. i've been uploading ads to youtube since over an year.. the only reason they do remove videos is when you use a song in the background that's not yours.. at least from what i've seen.. other than that, this just doesn't make any sense
Wow I still got around 9 videos up all prompting something and they've been up for a month now making me hundreds of dollars
That is messed up that happened to you when there is a lot worse on Youtube. Most likely some angry goody-two-shoes-rat reported your video to the youtube staff.
