I hope this is the right section for this question. I am planning to submit a video in youtube. It is just a series of images that I edited. I want to put a background music to it. My question is can I just use any music of my choice without danger of infringement. I saw a lot of videos with music but I just want to be on the safer side. I will be providing link to my website in the video so I don't want to be violating any copyright rules. Any advise or knowledge about this????
Also, most commonly, they will just detect their property then ask YouTube to ad ads to it. I used a Sublime song once and they added ads to my video playback page, but not to the player
theres lots of videos on youtiube doing this i shudnt see a problem with it. after all the worst thing they make you do is take it down.
If you want to be super safe about it, you can still use all of the popular music on youtube that you can refering to, but just use sections of it. The artists, mainly anybody who would be on MTV, when the new music comes out, will release a 20-40 second long clip of the song/music video that is for marketing and its not liable for copyright infringement. Or, if you don't care as much, just use whatever music you want and put it on youtube, millions of other people do and nothing ever happens.
LOL - it never ceases to amaze me the way people think they can manipulate memes/viral vids etc. I think it comes from a basic misunderstanding of what it actually means to be a viral video. Viral videos and memes are hugely popular for one specific reason. because they were made without TRYING to be. Was the evolution of dance kid trying to be the most watched youtube video of all time? What about the star wars lightsaber kid. You can't pay for creation of a viral video. It just has to happen.
As an alternative, you could use MIDI music in the background without violating any copyright issues (if you want to be on the safe side as you mentioned)
thanks for all the advise. I finally found one website that offer royalty free music at no cost. You just have to give him credit.
