Youtube Marketing- An Experience

    Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I decided to try this youtube viral marketing thing... I edited two short videos with my blog's url at the beginning and the end. The videos were sexual but censored (pixilated) at certain points. I tagged them with a lot of adult related tags/keywords (since this is what most people search for in youtube), and uploaded them to youtube.

After like an hour, I was having like 60+ views to one and 40+ views for the other. After like 8 hours, the views were like 670+for one and 450+ for the other! Strange thing though, these didn't convert to even one click to my blog... To make things worse, youtube contacted me and said that my videos were inappropriate and they had to remove them (though they were censored where necessary and I don't think I broke any rules/terms)...

Now I want to come up with a good way to convert such views to visitors to my blog/products... I'm going nuts... lots of thoughts in my mind but can't organize them... my next step would be to include a good portion of home business/marketing tags or keywords to the videos as well, that are related to my blog. Though adult tags bring more views (now the removed videos are still getting hits and one exceeded the 1000 views), I think it'd be better if I focus on targeted traffic.

    Any thoughts/Successful stories?

I would assume a lot of people watch the first 2 seconds of a video and return to their search results. I am not sure how youtube count the views though.

But to be successful at video marketing..Does your video intice people to go to your blog? What is the incentive? Are you offering something the average youtube video watcher would want more than to watch another video?

I think youtube watchers are a bunch of free loaders that just want to be fed free intertainment. Is that the sort of people you want at your blog?

For wide exposure your next step- you should send the link to your friends and post them on your MySpace pages/social networking sites and share them on forums.

That's exactly what you need to be asking.

Also, go out and find all the adult youtube clones and upload your content there, you don't even have to worry about pixellating. Some even allow you to post your URL under the video. pornotube, xtube, wanktube etc. They will work for adult content.

    Hi Everyone,

I did another one just for testing. I'm really enjoying this testing thing I'm doing.

In my first 2 videos, I only included the name and url of my blog, plus my swicki search engine for online money making, at the begining and the end of the videos. People are already messaging me with letters like: "Damn! They took the video down! I wanted to show it to a friend...bla bla...etc" "Can you share it with us here: www.whatever.com" etc....

In my third video, I replaced the swicki with a lead capture page (only at the end of the movie), but I didn't inform them what it was about. I just knocked on their curiousity button and wrote: "An amazing surprise!" then included the url..... out of 50 views, no one visited my blog, BUT, 12 visited the lead capture link, and even though they obviously expected some sort of adult content, 1 signed up to get my adsense report of 2007!

Now I'm really planning to target online money making and marketing audiense, or adsense audience... I have to make up my own adsense video.

    UPDATE:

Now the views of the lead capture page is 72 and I got another sign-up!

Don't know if that is considered good or not... maybe the page is good enough by itself to convert non targeted clicks to sign-ups...

    Anyway, Lesson Learnt:

Entice Audience With Something... Knock On Their Curiousity Button To Make Them Want More!

In future I'll test only OFFERING something and name exactly what I'm offering them, so that they know what to expect.
