Recently I have noticed that the quality of Youtube has been going down. This has covered both it's content and the way in which it is now starting to harbour so many extremists and helping to propagate sectarian (as one example) views. An example of this is a video I found, which was a trailer for a movie in regards to the troubles in Northern Ireland. I had no problem with the trailer or it's movie, but if I went as far as to scroll down the page and read the comments, it was a different story altogether. Most people in Northern Ireland are starting to see how we can all get along as a nation, and bring and end to the bad behaviours of the past from both sides, but when I was reading those comments, the hate that filled them brought a tear to my eye. There were people voicing opinions that they agreed with and supported the acts of terrorist organisations, and spreading hate and indocternation among anyone who may have read the comments, from countries such as America, which was particularly taken advantage of and warped by some groups during the troubles, for them to gain terrorist funding. My main question was also, how come these sort of comments are also being allowed through the regulators on youtube? For example, I tried to make a comment saying that we should all try to get along and move forward for a new brighter future, together, and it was removed, but comments using all sorts of foul language, and propagating hate between people were allowed through, and almost seemed to be encouraged! I don't know what is going on at youtube, but if one thing is definate, it is that they need to work on filtering their content better, including their comments system, and ensuring that they stop turning into a hate and terrorist breeding ground. Thankyou for taking the time to read this, and your opinions on this matter are welcome. Regards, Anhalo.
I Have seen many videos which has totally comments filled with hate regarding diffrent topics.. abusing. and slang i dont think youtube filters comments very strongly as it should
it's not just about YouTube. any political/religious site which allows users to interact, is prone to such nuisance. topix forums are a glaring example of this.
theres alot of propaganda on youtube. when the latest hungerstrike movie was posted on rlslog, there was atleast 100 comments, all of which were insults and sectarian remarks. Social networking sites are the worst, bebo is probably the most common one in N.I. and there nonstop fighting on it, aswell paramilitary recruiting!
i can't see so much bad bahaviour in the videos i am interested in ... so it depends on the subject i would say. but according to your experience there might should be a better filtering system at Yt. I think the videwo submitter can delete comments if he find them inappropriate ... so THIS is not a youtube Tos isssue. maybe you can go to your mom crying because your post was deleted ... or just take it as a man knowing about the inadequacies of other people.
Hasn't YouTube always had the keyboard warriors? Surprised that there is no moderation, considering Google run the show.
Well most of the time you find good and useful things, but others you find realy stupid things actually now more than before, youtube is bottomed out lately.
