IT can be for yours too...How many people use Youtube for linking back to their sites? I just posted a small clip that I made to Youtube in relation to my site and put my website link up on the actual youtube clip along the top, so people could see my link at all times while watching the clip. Then I also put it up in the top right corner of the Youtube page where my username and details are... because people always look up there as well. I have had it on youtube for nearly 2 months and have already had over 3000 people look and more then half of them have gone to my site and actually signed up! I guess you just have to try and find a way to capture people to look at your clip first. I play the gituar so a few friends and I came up with an idea to sing a song about my business, sounds dumb but it works...
I agree! Youtube is amazing!!!...chk out these interesting stats: * YouTube was the number one video site on the Internet as of January - with 67.5 million unique users in the U.S., according to Nielsen NetRatings. * The site also was the 6th largest Internet destination overall, Nielsen determined. * People watch hundreds of millions of videos a day on the service. * Every minute, 10 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube. * Of the 9.5 billion online videos watched in the U.S. in November last year, 2.9 billion of those were watched on YouTube, according to Comscore.
Shhh! Don't tell people about this! ;-) (jk) As a web designer, I teach my clients about this YouTube Marketing Strategy - but I've never wanted to pick up the gauntlets and start competing in the YouTube Web-Design-How-To niche... generally, I keep my web design marketing to a minimum so I can keep up with the work. At the same time, YouTube *always* provides nice traffic to my alternate hobby niche sites, and, a better conversion rate for their squeeze pages. ...I'm learning so much from creeping this forum that I'd feel bad if I didn't share something that's been a benefit to me... tubemogul.com Cheers all
Youtube is a very good site to gain traffic. I should appreciate you for your idea of singing a song about your business. Hope it will also work
No, you don't need to know how to make a good video. In fact, the amateur videos look like a trusted personal review, while the professional video looks like a paid ad. I can speak well, but I find it's a lot of work to edit a narration to go along with a video, so I use text blocks and fill the entire video with background music from youtube - easy. And it works. People certainly do click through and respond to landing pages to join lists... (which you should have set up with an auto-responder series of email that promotes something like a clickbank product or a paid membership site...) I use Camtasia, but you can start off with screentoaster.com Here's to amateur videos! Cheers! Doug
Great tips on this thread about YouTube, thanks, guys!! I'm loving this! And those stats - wow! I knew some of them but the one that blows me away is this one: Whoa!
I have never tried youtube marketing.. But from the looks of it.. I should start. Looks like alot of traffic can be gained from youtube
Yeah I love Youtube, I guess it helps that I have a background in this sort of stuff but there is definetly NOOO reason why ametuers can't do it - I mean I still am one of those people not a professional. And yes it isn't how you make the video but its what you do to make it want people to see it...do something different like I did. My next Youtube venture I'm hoping to hit 100,000k plus views in 2 months....goodluck to me
I used to use Youtube to gain traffic to one of my older sites and it worked well. It's free and over the course of a year I probably gained about 500 unique visitors to my site from Youtube. Not bad for a quick, free to make video lol
Wow, i wouldn't of thought it would be a good way to gain traffic im going to try this soon in the future!
If you are posting quality VIDEO, YouTube is a powerful tool which can send you a tremendous amount of traffic. That being said, make sure you are actually posting videos and NOT photo slideshows with text and narration. With more and more videos now being uploaded in HD, your viewers will start to expect a higher quality of video. It's not that photo slideshows won't drive traffic, but as soon as someone uploads a higher quality video using competing tags/descriptions... the lesser quality video is sure to drop in search results. Consumer HD cameras are getting cheaper and the quality of Internet video is increasing exponentially!
I heard already that you tube can create magic with your site promotion . you guys proved it. Thanks.
Let me add that great traffic from Youtube comes from great videos. And making a good video is more difficult than making a webpage.
