No surprise, however I think there are a lot of ways to overcome any obstacles. :)

I think it's the problem of Iranians , If they want them back they have to do what's needed.
Maybe they don't care about youtube :)
You can write your comments directly to their president
    http://www.ahmadinejad.ir/

Close societies don't like that much openness but it is a fact that the openness is used against them by their enemies , too.

Yeah, why would they ban Wikipedia? It is educational. It is known to be around 97% accurate on any topic.

Governments who want to control their sheep population have to keep information away from them. Wikipedia and YouTube would reveal too much about the outside world and then people might start to get ideas.

Hmm, interesting.. never had thought about it like that. So they try and hide information there..? Surely they will find out the information anyway..

Some people will. But those people will be a small minority and easily labeled nutballs and sentenced to death for causing trouble.

There we go again with controlling the public so they don't know what is outside their world.

I have always believed that Iran is a lot more free than most people think, especially since Khatami (sp?) was elected president against the wishes of the religious elite. But these things always make me wonder...

What a horrible government. Iran is already "out of it" enough, and yet their information is still limited.
