Ok, here is a general business question pertaining to YouTube. 1. Let's say you have 50 video's that average a total of 50,000 plays per day on YouTube from a single account. All the video's are specifically in the aviation and music genre's. No mixing and matching between hot chicks and Sukhoi's. 2. Now, on every single one of those video's is your website's link. Note: This link is easily found and not buried. 3. We already know this will drive great traffic, even though the links do not get indexed. But..... How would one place the actual marketing value on that YouTube account as it equates to actually money? So if one were to sell the account to a marketer or equate this to what it would cost to do the same level of traffic with conventional marketing tactics? This is a tough cookie here. As an example: These 50 video's on this single account drive at least 1,000 unique visitors a day to the site, for a total average of about 5,000 page views. The site has mixed content between product sales of music, games, dvd's, etc. The free stuff is forums on those topics, an actually well design internet tv portal, and a well designed music video section for about 1,000 more youtube video's.
This whole post is a tough cookie You should re state your words so that I can understand YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Place a tracking url in the videos if its easy enough to type in, http://www.domain.com/youtube. Some will just type in the domain.com but many will type in the domain.com/youtube to see if there is something specific at that URL related to the video. The link gets a hit and you can redirect to anywhere you want. Or a new domain that can be tracked and traffic rediected to where you want.
The best way to do it is to set up a domain name just for the video. If you video is about music.. It helps (on CTR) if the title is relevant to the clip. Don't use full URI's in a video it just confuses people. You can redirect traffic from the new domain to your normal website, but it is a surefire way to track that traffic and report it for resale value. If you are interested in testing your video CTR and CVR in a controlled environment I recommend LeadsByVideo.com where viewers watch video ads to their completion without disrupted of start-stop streaming or enticing distractions of other videos. Also at the end of each video the viewer can click to access the owners website and all stats for all videos are there to see and learn from.
I already have an operational site. Links and everything work great. No redirects or any shady methods. In my admin, I can actually see about a thousands uniques daily coming in off my vids and page views of those uniques of about 5 each. My technique is simple. Video description is about 15 words, and then the site url is right there too. From that, I get about a thousand daily. What I am wondering, as per my post, is what "could" the value of it be in terms of market pricing.
Placing a dollar amount on traffic relative to how specific and targeted the traffic is. If you could qualify the traffic in a specific niche or a buyers of specific product then it would be worth more. 10 buyers are more valuable than 1000 visitors.
At some point, I plan to actually sell the account. This is why I am wondering. I average about a thousand visitors per day from youtube for that site and am planning to create a different account soon and do the same thing. But with this one, if I sell it at some point to a marketer or mlm business, I am wondering what would the value be to price it at. All they'd have to do is just change the url on the video's. Would take about an hour. I am definitely not a newbie at it, but I have never sold a youtube account before (haha). The url when looking at my profile I make a pretty good chunk of net revenue already, but this is totally different beast then that.
