I know it sounds funny, but a friend of mine just had his adsense account blocked just because the website where he had adsense code posted presented youtube clips. It was a one gender website ( e.g. Hip-hop), only that kinda moovies. What went wrong? Any ideeas?
To state the obvious: Google has no problem with YouTube videos (they own YouTube...) in fact they now have "video ads" which are YouTube videos with AdSense in them... so uh.. yeah. Your friend was not blocked for using YouTube videos.
He checked and double checked, there was nothing wrong with it, didnt have ilegal content and stuph .. I am not trying to excuse the man, just wanting to know if google do make mistaques ...
Post a link to your site that got banned. That way we can give you better advice. If there was nothing wrong with the site then it might be illegal clicks or traffic.
YouTube videos CAN get your account banned. It's called copyrighted material or not family friendly videos, those are the most likely reason.
well then, its a lil bit weird... didnt google owned Youtube ? Theyr banning themselves ? why they allow such material on youtube in the first place?
Don't know which rock you've been hiding under.... http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/02/02/gootube-slammed-by-viacom-takedown-demand/ As of lately, record companies have been posting up videos directly. I have noticed they have disabled the embedding videos option. Please read around the forum, this question has been answered a million times. You can get banned for videos on YouTube, there also are adult video on YouTube that can get your AdSense account banned, and more other assumptions that have been made on this thread. If you have any doubt, just e-mail AdSense directly. I don't understand why so many people are scared. And about the whole Hip Hop theme to the site, maybe there was something raunchy on the site. Who knows. We obviously don't, so we can't tell you why your friend was banned. Goodluck.
it doesn't matter what the content was, or where it came from, if you don't have permission of the copyright holder to put it up on your specific site, it's a copyright violation that can get you banned from adsense. that is clearly spelled out in the adsense tos, and the youtube tos specifically states that you can't use the youtube videos for commercial gain. why do you people think that only a few specific vids are available on the new adsense/youtube video thing? because it's the only vids that have the correct copyright permissions.
A member gkgk on DP made $7000 a month from a youtube-adsense site, he advertised it with adwords, and he got banned. So I think in some cases youtube videos might be bad to use with adsense.
