YouTube to add a link to the description of uploaded videos Do they work? My Ahrefs.co from questioning when I do I get from YouTube link does not appear? in the same situation applies plus google+..
First and foremost I'd consider that link useful for somewhere to send people who have watched your video. People do click those links - particularly if they are in the first 2 lines of the description (i.e. they show without having to click the 'show more' link). So in that sense, yes, they do work. Obviously that means creating targeted videos real people want to watch. In 'backlink' terms, it's impossible to say for certain how much value Google places in a 'nofollow' link, especially on a property they own. Clearly a nofollow link is 'worth' less than a follow link, but 'how much less' is a can of worms you probably don't want to open. Ahrefs may simply have not found the links yet.
Youtube backlinks from description are not useful in SEO, just shorten the link and then post it in the youtube videos.
Two of you really don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't even comment. 1. As millsvs correctly said, with a link in description you will get real visitors to your website if you have quality and interesting video. 2. People will see your website address and if the video is interesting they will remember it and might visit it in the future, so it's good for brand awareness. 3. For those of you who think SEO is all about link building then you have to have some nofollow links as only follow links profile looks too unnatural (I've never seen a real website without a single nofollow link).
No follow links do help, but not as much as do follow links. At the end of the day, the more links the better
