I have a content based website but I believe I could also use video to aid users. I have a dilema, do I use my own video software and post it myself or do I use youtube? Youtube offers a greater chance to attract visitors, with free hosting. My own videos will be solely mine, not available anywhere else but will incurr costs and a lot more work. Is youtube a method which can attract masses of traffic to a website? e.g. google beating if your site is mostly based upon video. I would be interested in anyone else who has used youtube marketing or opted for their own video publishing methods. Thanks in advance guys.
I suggest you post the video on youtube or other video sharing sites and then stream it to your site, you will not only save your webhosting bandwidth but also get additional traffic from the video sites.
I'm just now wrestling with this... put the vids on my site or youtube or both. Here's what I use as a deciding factor: Does your site outrank youtube? do you get more traffic than youtube? since that question has an obvious answer I'm putting my vids on both, cause I want the inbound link from youtube, the traffic exposure (potential traffic) from youtube. I know, I know... the naysayers are gonna repeat the mantra, "...but youtube inbound links are no follow" hence worthless? don't believe that for a second, Google juice is measured in ways not revealed by the little green box in your toolbar, you WANT something FROM Google, do you not? (you can infer what you will from that last statement)
Put the video on You Tube and then in the description to the side, put the link to your website. On You Tube, they have an annotation feature. So at the end of your video, you can annotate "click on this link" or "Go to www.mysite.com". If you need a video screen capture that's cheap with high quality, get Jing. It's made by the same people who did Camtasia Studio and compatible with both Mac and Windows.
Videos are very effective in promoting something.. Cos it makes the promotion alive and it is more understandable...
If you're looking to reach millions of users at YouTube for an affordable price, using YouTube Promoted Videos is one great way to get there. The online video space is one of the largest online consumer spaces, and YouTube users submit hundreds of millions of searches for video content every day.
Another thing you have to keep in mind just like in google is your keywords! If you videos title or description doesn't contain at least few very good relavent keywords then you videos will not get any views at all. But if it does assuming you have a good niche you video will pop up in google all by its self with your links to your main website. So if you have great SEO and you website is ranked plus have videos on youtube that will pop up in google your geting twice the traffic for you money if not more from youtube... Just something to think about lol...
Post the videos on youtube and watermark them with your website name. You will get exposure on youtube and the possibility of very targeted traffic. Then take the embed code off of youtube and use it to post the video on your site. That will reduce the load on your server having to process the streaming video.
Yea i didnt even think about it like that. Have it stream straight from youtube. Thats true and a great idea!!!
i would suggest you to go for youtube. it is a medium that google crwler just adores.. it is one of the finest ways to get high ranking in google, most of the web promoters often consider it as a tedious task so it really offers less competition as compared to other methods. while posting videos it is really important to have correct keyword selection, posting it in correct category, and have correct and visible names on the video,if someone is watchg you video from start to end there are chances you may get a cling from him to your site!
ye nd I noticed that sum1 else made a video for my blog LOL nd he/she gave a link to my site..God bless that guy/girl
